Overpriced for disappointing Shanghainese food experience” 31 Oct 2021

This restaurant overprices itself for serving average tasting food.

Their signature dumpling in chilly oil tasted mushy and distingrates before reaching the mouth. Pickled jelly fish was not firm nor crunchy Take a leaf from one star michelin PUTIEN. If Henghwas can do it so can Malaysians. The double-boiled spare rib soup with cabbage was served in such a tiny little bowl that was the size of most restaurants' finger-bowls. And the fried noodle was wet, soggy and smothered with oil.

We ordered fried marble beef that was also served in a small plate, with probably less than ten thin slices of beef. For that, they have the audacity to charge around MYR40.00 for this dish.

Be very careful.and be aware not to be misled by their big advertisement promoting 40 pct discount on dim sum from.3 pm till ?? pm.

Please note that the 40 pct applies only to a very limited selection of dim sum offered on the menu. The 40 pct discount does not apply to all items in their dim sum menu.

The young waitress who took our order and served us was obviously a drop out from charm school. She was sulky, non-communicative and totally unsuitable to be a waitress.

Conclusion: be prepared to pay close to MYR100 per pax for a disappointing meal experience at...

This branch is located inside Bangsar Village II and is also one of our most visited restaurants in Bangsar. Like other branches, this restaurant is famous for Xiao Long Bao 5 🌟 (of assorted flavours and designs) which is one of my personal favourites.

This visit we ordered other dishes on the menu such as the Spicy Fish Bowl 3 🌟 which sadly wasn't really what we expected. Taste wise.. The fish and the spicy soup base.. kind of didn't really blend with the fish. It has dried tofu strips and Chinese glass noodles 🍜 mixed inside this dish. This was ok but this dish kind of didn't blend well with rice also. Luckily we ordered the century egg 4 🌟 which helped balanced the meal.

However we really like the pan fried pumpkin dessert 5 🌟 which was really delicious .. Not too sweet and has the right bite size. The Red Bean Bun 4 🌟 ia also very delicious. Will definitely be back to try out usual dishes on the menu (noodles, Xiao long Bao, etc).

On 7th April, 2023 I had an evening dine in this restaurant and my experience was one that im not sure how to convey. According to the website that I surfed on, it mentioned that the restaurant closes at approximately 10pm. However, I'm flabbergasted to observe the staff beginning to close up the restaurant at 9.11pm by retrieving sauces whilst I was still feasting on my Xiao Long Bao. Even though I was asked about it, I feel very pressured and chased out, and it irritated my dine. And besides, I was inquired whether I needed a dessert at 9.30pm, the last call. How is that possible when the restaurant closes at 10pm, and the restaurant is already rushing to close at the start of (let's say) 9pm. Quite ridiculous if I'd say so myself. In any case, I hope this does not carry on consistently, and perhaps try to utilize the time properly given. I fully understand your work demise, I am an adult myself, but customer service is crucial. Thank you

P.s. another person commented, 'You're food nice, tapi saya perlu masa sendiri...

Good spot for a casual meal - consistently high quality and yummy food (xiao loong bao, la mian, etc), attentive service, and decent ambience. My one gripe is that the service is a bit weird (not inattentive or rude, just odd). For instance, they insist on you ordering using a QR code but you have to order tea from a server. You can’t order iced tea but you can order a bucket of ice (no glasses for the ice though). Had to keep asking the servers for chili oil, vinegar, etc - standard condiments for dumplings that are brought to you without you having to ask at other establishments. Edit: Management clearly read the review and made changes! Service is less “weird” based on a recent visit, e.g., no more chili oil or vinegar rationing. Hurrah!

Found this restaurant by chance while in the neighborhood. Dined in during lunch and ordered fried rice with pork chop, vinegar (mala) la mian with pork dumplings and original xiao long bao. Pork chop fried rice was tasty with generous portion of pork chop, and xiao long bao skin looks pearl like and also tasted good (in fact IMO better than DTF's). The la mian with fragrant Szechuan peppers sauce did not disappoint either. Would definitely go back for a second visit soon, but hopefully the quality and (most importantly) price is maintained if not improved. P/s : Had forgotten to snap photo of the fried rice when served, as was in a hurry to dive in on the food 😀
