Starbucks Sunway Velocity — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Not the place to go forwork purposes.

The good: If you aren't here for work, it's a good place to sit at and wait for your driver to pick you up.

Specific praise: This one male staff gives me the same vibes as that other male staff in the Bukit Bintang Reserve branch. Friendly and gives me energy in the morning. I also wouldn't have known that I could get a discount for getting breakfast set if he didn't mention it. Shout out to the guy.

The not so good: Very. noisy. Since it's such an easy place to just sit idly and chit chat, a lot of family's with their children stop by and you can just imagine how hectic it is. It's also across Secret Recipe, so you're gonna get at least one "Happy Birthday" when you're there. All of the seats except the outdoor and tall table ones are meant for multiple people seating, or at least good for. Meaning if you come here alone to work in the afternoon, you'll mostly likely see groups of people occupying the seats already. Or maybe they reserve that table for their friends/coworkers to arrive.

I used to come here a lot because it's close by my house and I wasn't sick of Velocity yet. But after discovering other branches and other coffee houses, I don't frequent this specific Starbucks anymore unless it's to wait for my driver...

I’ve always loved Starbucks, but my experience at this branch has been quite disappointing. The female staff members here are generally unfriendly and not very accommodating — they rarely smile or make customers feel welcome. It’s not the warm, inviting Starbucks atmosphere I’m used to.

I also noticed that the coffee here tastes different from other outlets. I’ve tried drinks like the Java Chip, Dark Mocha, and Iced Latte, but the flavors seem a bit bland and lack that distinct, rich Starbucks taste. For example, the Dark Mocha here tastes noticeably weaker compared to other branches.

Because of these experiences, I usually choose to walk to the Starbucks branch in Aeon (Maluri) instead — even though it’s about a 10-minute walk from my place. The Sunway Velocity mall branch is literally just in front of my condo, but I’d still rather go a bit further for better service and more consistent drinks.

It would be great if this branch could work on improving both their customer service and drink quality, because Starbucks is known for its consistency and friendly baristas — something I didn’t...

Came here after right after school to study and we ordered 2 drinks , 2 seperated payments. One of my friend ordered a frappe and its thursday so they had rm 10 promo for each drink and the staff overcharged my friend and was hesitant when i asked if he already applied the rm 10 discounts. After checking his receipt it turns out that its not the offer price. Same goes for me when i want to tapped my card i saw it was 20+ instead of 10. Really disappointed because the staff assisting me is rude and not energetic. The cafe was messy with drinks all over the table. Im gonna stick to the Four Seasons Reserve Outlet from now on the service is WAY BETTER than this...
