The Chicken Rice Shop KL Gateway — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

My husband and I often frequented TCRS at many other outlets before and this was our first time dining in at KL Gateway outlet (31/7/2025). We arrived at 12.55pm and waited to be seated but no staffs came to show us to the table so we proceeded to sat at Table 3. We waited for 10 minutes and tried to call for a staff to clean up the table and give us QR but ALL STAFFS simply avoided making eye contact with us. My husband then had to go to the counter and asked for QR from the staff. We knew that it was lunch time full house and everyone was busy but a simple smile from the staff and just ask us to wait for a moment is all it takes but they simply choose to just ignore. Makes me wonder does TCRS not provide basic customer service training to their staffs? The curry chicken that my husband had was below par as compared to the ones that he always order at other outlets. The bowl was filled with 4 big chunks of potatoes and only 1 cut up chicken wing. And mind you, it was tiny. Chicken curry is a meal that he never failed to order everytime at TCRS and this is the first time that he received this tiny portion. It was always chunks of chicken breast or thigh before not 1 tiny wing. The sound/music played at the outlet was too loud as if the bustling lunch time and surrounding was not loud enough. Overall, we are very dissatisfied with the service that we received at KL Gateway outlet. Looking at other reviews several months back even, this is not the first time that this kind of service happen and seems like nothing has improve. Where do I start?! Visited this branch during lunch time and understandably it was pretty busy. However there were a number of empty tables but they were not cleaned yet. Anyways, as instructed by the sign at the entrance ‘Please wait to be seated’, we stood there expecting a waitress to take us to our seats. Instead, they ignored us and brushed past us a number of times. I am not sure what exactly the waitresses were busy doing because they seemed to be walking around like headless chickens (excuse the pun), standing at the cashier, pottering at their stations, talking to each other but not actually tending to customers. They don’t seem to know what to do and when. We finally had to stop a waitress to get her attention, and she pointed to one of the dirty tables. It didn’t get any better. It took time for the table to be cleaned, took time for us to get our menus, it took time to get our orders, it took AGES to get our food and when it did arrive, only the chicken came but no rice. We had to ask 3 times for the rice and by then our food was cold. It was a horrible experience and we have seen customers walking out because of the service. The reviews here show that this has been the case for months but obviously the management have not been taking it seriously as the service is still shambles! Service provided was not deserved as 1 star. Very poor service. Everytime i came, i have experienced new thing which made me very mad. Before order, i have asked many times if i order this set, could i take home half and another half i would eat at the shop. The waitress said can. I repeat my question many times and got the same answer. But then they serve all meal set at the same time. I asked why they told me could not take away have to dine in. I told her that i have asked the waitress many times if i can seperate my order she said can. Then they kept on telling me have to finish it.
