Being originally from the region the food is presented here, and look, and taste and feeling, nothing else I can say than ---exceptionally nice and good. I was finally able to find authentic Ćevapi in Malaysia, That we have been waiting for decades. And they taste very well, where you get Ivar and sour cream as side dishes. Absolutely amazing.. Then you have Goulash,,, wow.. another dish that is hardly to get around, but most important is the taste and feeling. well, you can't find anything like that in Malaysia.. now, it is here. Love it.. Other dishes i need to try , but from experience i have for these two, i am sure it will be delightful as well. I have to go again and dig in 😍. Then for desert , you have real and really authentic Tufahija ( Apple desert) that is absolutely marvelous and enjoyable.. I couldn't really control eating habits, and i do it a bit too fast, as taste is awsome.. Baklava and Apple pie is equally good.. Have to taste to appreciate the beauty and flavours, you can't find anywhere else. Finally, we have really good Mediterranean Ottoman Balkan restaurant in Malaysia, and KL, easy to find, good parking space, and food is amazing.. Environment and feeling inside the restaurant , is another marvel and these guys have spent a lot of work and passion to create such wonderful experience. Beautiful!! Staff and Chef , exceptionally friendly and helpful.. If i could put more than 5...
Read moreI have had my share of Eastern Mediterranean cuisines having been to numerous Turkish restaurants with my Turkish friends (who wanted me to have the most authentic food experience), as well as frequenting a Greek family-owned restaurant near my home in the US and must say that the Balkan-theme cuisine at the Ottoman is quite delicious and excellent. While some of the dishes I tried were familiar, like the stuffed grape leaves, Greek salad, and a lamb dish with one of the most succulent and delicately flavorful piece of meat I've ever had, I opted to go with dishes that I had never tried. The Trahana (sourdough noodle soup) was a Bosnian tomato-based soup that had a nice balance of sour cream to counter the acidity of the tomato sauce and the Plejeskavica ("Ottoman shnitzel") was a rather large burger-style sandwich where the patty reminded me of a large kofta in taste and texture. For dessert, I tried the apple pie - a must have at this establishment as it is not like "Grandma's apple pie," but rather like a baklava with filled with apple chunks. It was not too sweet and paired perfectly with a long black coffee (courtesy of Bayang Coffee).
The atmosphere of the restaurant was upscale, but affordable and the staff were very friendly and professional.
If you are in the KL area, I highly recommend the Ottoman if you are looking for an authentic and delicious Balkan/Mediterranean...
Read moreWe were shared this place by someone and so we can came here to enjoy something new we've never tried before which is Balkan food ..
I dare say food was superb.. Roast lamb was succelant, juicy, tender, flavourful and the mash and roasted pepper puree was soooo good. Crowd favourite. Deffinitely recommended!!! The bean tomato soup was the 2nd fav. It's comforting, delicious, it was the perfect blend of beans, chicken and perfectly creamy and decadent.. Yummms Lamb soup (not in picture) was also delicious but the tomato stole the show.. Hahaha.. -chef special of beef stew with doughly noodle and vegetable.. Compared to the other dishes it didn't stand out.. But we still enjoyed it nevertheless.. The poach apple walnut dessert was not bad.. Hehhe but we agreed if it's warm would've been better. Google did say its supposed to be serve cold/room, however maybe it's preferences. Balkan baclava with walnut also delicious but we agreed it would've been better if it was heated before served.
It was deffinitely an interesting dinner, delicious and an amazing date out .. Thanks for the delicious food and amazing service.. We...
