Used to really enjoy a good steak here back when it was just a small set-up — the kind that offered personalised service and well-prepared food. Naturally, I was looking forward to trying this new mega outlet spanning two levels across several shoplots. Unfortunately, it just didn’t live up to expectations.
Came with the family for a birthday celebration, but the whole experience was frustrating from the start. Halfway through taking our order, the waiter abruptly handed us over to another waitress and rushed off. Unsure if the appetiser had been keyed in, I repeated the order — which turned out to be a duplicate. I had to rush over to the waitress to cancel the second one just as the first appetiser arrived, barely seconds after I’d finished ordering. The entire process felt messy and confusing. Even with simple English and Bahasa, communication was a real struggle.
The ambience didn’t help either. While having a kids’ play area inside a steak restaurant might sound like a family-friendly idea, it completely ruined the dining atmosphere. About 10–15 kids were running and shouting in the play area right next to the dining section, making it nearly impossible to relax, enjoy the food, or have a proper conversation.
The steak was another let-down — served less than warm, with no crispness on the outer layer. It lacked any decent sear, and cutting into it felt like slicing through wobbly rubber. Soft, untextured, and just disappointing. The appetiser, described as sliced beef, turned out to be preserved dried beef — quite different from what we were expecting.
Dessert didn’t fare much better. Most options were already unavailable, and the one I finally managed to order was cancelled later as well. I had reminded the staff three times — including once during my afternoon reservation — to serve the dessert with a birthday candle. But when it eventually arrived, there was no candle. After yet another reminder, the candle finally appeared — but by then, the ice cream was already melting.
To be fair, the staff really gave it their all — I’d give them 10/10 for effort. But they were clearly overwhelmed and disorganised. You could see it in their expressions — just scrambling in all directions trying to keep up. At one point, I was asked three times whether I had been served the complimentary dinner bread, even though I’d already declined it after the first round.
We were genuinely hoping for a warm, joyful birthday meal — but sadly, the evening ended up feeling chaotic, noisy, and...

Parking here is usually manageable since it is located in a shoplot row with plenty of public spaces. At night it is easy to find a spot, but during office hours it can be more challenging, so allow some extra time if you come in the afternoon.
I have been visiting since the very first day of opening, and Meat Point TTDI has become my go-to restaurant for all celebrations. The service is generally good and the staff are polite. One small area for improvement is LANGUAGE. Many of the staff have stayed in Kuala Lumpur for years but still struggle with basic Bahasa Melayu. It can feel like a gap in communication, and sometimes it turns off local customers when questions are not clearly understood.
The food is the highlight. I usually go for a 300g steak or larger. The kitchen is usually happy to cut and prepare this, since the displayed menu often lists options below 200g. However, on a few occasions, especially with newer staff, I was told I had to take only what was on the menu. This shows some inconsistency that could be improved. When the order is done right, the steaks are excellent, flavorful, and worth it.
The ambience is amazing. Recently they stepped up the experience with dramatic smoky effects from drinks that create a kabus effect. It looks very trendy and makes the whole place feel more festive. If you are celebrating, they even take your photo and print it out for you to keep as a memory. This is a thoughtful touch that makes the experience stand out.
Crowds can be heavy, especially during weekends and holidays. Impressively, they even open on Hari Raya, and I once had lunch here on Raya day. The space is large and can handle many diners, but it is still safer to make a reservation in advance.
Operating hours can be checked online, and they are usually reliable.
My tip for visitors is simple: make a booking, especially for dinner or weekends. That way you can relax and enjoy the excellent steak and lively atmosphere...
Read moreReserved a table for two at 8.00pm, Saturday for my wife's birthday. Not too crowded. We're given a table up at 2nd floor. There were a birthday party going on and quite loud so we asked for a table downstairs, which was quickly entertained. Our new table is much more quiet and peaceful. Both of us ordered grain fed ribeye, medium rare, blackpepper and mushroom sauce, meatpoint signature marinate, curly fries, onion rings, waffle fries and 2 cokes.
Food: Grain Fed Ribeye Medium Rare - honestly its perfect. They made marinate the meat well and the cooked it as per requested. You can basically eat it as is without gravy and still tastes amazing. My wife preferred my mushroom sauce over her the blackpepper sauce. 9/10
Curly fries - normal, a little bit salty but okay. 5/10
Onion rings - okay as well. Nothing special. 5/10
Mashed potatoes - very good, hard to find a place that makes proper mashed potatoes. 8/10
Waffle fries - I'm not a fan but overall I thinks it's okay as what you expect from any waffle fries. 5/10
Service: Changing the table - I'm very happy that one of the waiter quickly without a second thought ushered us to a more secluded and quiet table away from the birthday party. It meant alot to me as this was my wife's birthday party.
Food service - we waited around 10 minutes for our food to arrive which we consider quite fast.
Attention to our needs - as I mentioned that I'm having my wife's birthday here, that served us with a small desert and ice cream, with firework candle which was a great delight to my wife! I didn't even instructed them this which made me really happy.
Complimentary picture - they provide a free picture to all the came in to dine. The waiter takes really, really good picture!
Overall, it's an 11/10 experience. I had doubts about this place before but now I'm a happy customer.
Shout out to the waiter thay helped changing our table and taking our pictures!...
