Plenty on the Menu, But Nothing to Write Home About

Dropped by Eatomo Food Co in TTDI with an open mind and an empty stomach, but left feeling rather underwhelmed. While the menu boasts a wide variety of dishes – from seafood staples to comfort food favourites – the execution didn’t quite match the ambition.

The food itself was, well... fine. Nothing offensive, but also nothing that had us reaching for our phones to snap a photo. Our fish and chips, for instance, seemed to have taken a slightly extended holiday in the deep fryer – more crunch than intended, and a touch on the dry side.

It's also worth noting that the kitchen appears to be staffed mostly by non-locals. Not a criticism in itself, but perhaps some dishes lose a bit of their intended flavour or flair along the way. If your plate looks a little different from what you'd expect, just take it in stride – it's all part of the experience.

All in all, Eatomo offers variety, yes – but not necessarily distinction. A decent enough stop if you’re nearby and hungry, but perhaps not one to go out of...

Food: Many reviews here complain about their dismal portion and I get it, considering the RM30+ price per bowl. However, as a repeat customer, I feel it is acceptable as the food is consistently tasty and fresh - no matter which outlet I visit. My usual go-to is the California poke bowl with brown rice.

Service: Food always served quickly. Staff at all outlets I've visited, including this one at TTDI, are foreigners who aren't too chatty or warm but they do a good enough job and are always polite. No complaints.

Atmosphere: As many mentioned, I came for dinner at 6ish on a Sunday evening and there was only one other solo diner in the outlet. As I was finishing my meal, another solo diner came in. The restaurant is clean, tidy, quiet, and seating comfortable. Suggestion: perhaps play some soft music for a bit of a more relaxing/fun atmosphere? The place can feel a bit 'too quiet' due to lack of customers.

Overall, I'm always happy to dine at Eatomo no matter which outlet! Thank you for feeding me...

Apparently a California inspired restaurant that offers Poke Bowl meals, Salads, Grilled Fish, Japanese type food (Salmon Sashimi, Donburi Rice Bowls), Fried Appetizers, Pasta, Udon, etc.

Atmosphere: 4.5🌟 This place is quite quiet (at 2pm) and have more deliveries customers than walk in ones. The place is comfy and tables are not close to each other. It's a good spot to hang out and chill or do some work with your laptop, etc. However, not much options for drinks.

Food: Fried Spicy Brisket Bowl 3.5🌟 Salad 3.25🌟, Miso Soup 3.25 🌟 Japanese style bowl that comes with a salad and a soup. The rice used seems to be Japanese rice (smaller rounder) called "Calrose Rice" and the beef brisket is like minced up. The flavour is quite good, nice level of spiciness (it's not too spicy but definitely can feel it). Apparently this bowl cost 280 calories and Rm 26.90+. It's pricey but probably acceptable considering the...

To be fair, the food isn't bad, but the portions are small, and it isn't cheap (RM32.35 after service AND tax). I suppose fish has become very expensive over the years, but with other poke bowl players in the market still doing well, I struggle to find a reason to choose this over the others. On top of that, they charge RM5 to substitute rice with salad, which is just iceberg lettuce? Which would make it RM38?? The main reason for my rating is the sheer number of questionable 5-star reviews with no description, no photos, that are left by profiles with only 1 review.
