We came here to try out the Osaka Unagi Don (np RM45, pp RM38) after reading so much about it on FB and to our surprise, they have revamped their menu quite a bit since the renovation and rebranding; it was a nice surprise though. We have ordered a few other dishes besides the Osaka Unagi Don ( came with miso soup) like the Golden Dragon Roll with Mango (RM22), Assorted Mentaiko Sushi (RM16), the chef recommended Soba Trilogy with seafood (RM24) and the Japanese potatoes salad (RM10). Overall we were quite pleased with the food and out of these few dishes, one must try I would say is the potatoes salad😋 We have also tried their fancy Summer Fruits Tea that came in a carafe 1000ml (RM18) and it was on the house👍🏻🙏🏻, it was so refreshing and yummy until my 6 yo son can’t stop drinking it😅 The only reason I gave a 4 stars was because we waited quite long for the food to be served and the waiter had also missed out one of our order which was the Osaka Unagi Don that we came here for😅 The cashier told us they were short of staff that day due to it was a public holiday on GE15 and the time that we were there (around 2.45pm after we went to vote) was the time their staff taking turns for their breaks. Overall the food there is good and the restaurant can seat more people after they extended to the second floor, it also looks brighter and clean with the new minimalist Japanese design and decors and not forgetting the cute Totoro...
Read moreWow. This was one of the best Japanese dinners I've ever had with my brother. We've tried the previous Wasabi restaurant version where the environment and style were more of Sushi Mentai. But it seems that they have renovated and changed their look, the name to Wasabi+ and food quality entirely for the better.
One of their signature dish is the white rice with teriyaki unagi and tamago in between. Very delicious and well prepared meal. Their sushis were tasty as well. And their sashimi selections were very fresh and served cold. Chawanmushi was served hot and tasted very good with plenty of condiments inside that you may feel surprised. We ordered drinks summer fruit tea. It was a jug sized for 2 person. Refreshing beverage that perfectly goes together with the food.
Staff were very attentive and efficient. Price wise it was on the high side but that's because we ordered a lot, wanting to try many dishes. But overall it was worth the money and we would come back again and try other dishes. 5 stars...
Read moreThe food is okay... at best? I had their baku baku beef tongue set and some moriawase sets. It was okay, but nothing amazing. The sushi is surprisingly mediocre, again, nothing special. Given the fact that there's a Sushi Mentai around the corner, I wouldn't have sushi here.
The service is okay, but what sets me off is the menu's design. Absolutely horrible design and very hard to understand what it's trying to convey. The area has very little parking since it's deep in Manjalara. Staff were mostly on the younger side and weren't too experienced.
The atmosphere is something I personally dislike. The entire shop is decorated with Totoro (although not sure if it is legal) and a bunch of spots for Instagram photos. There are some semblance of a Japanese cuisine restaurant. I'm okay with all of it, but here I just feel something's not right, the decorations and the layout compromised on the feeling of a restaurant. I do realize that this is a very personal take, and not many might...
