YaHala Restaurant - TTDI — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Made a booking for 11 pax at 7 pm on 10 August 2024.

Was met not with warmth but with disorganization as the waiter claimed that there was no such booking. Unassisted, we sat ourselves at the first largest table we could find anyway since it was relatively empty.

When the waiter with the ponytail came to take our order, rather than any warm greeting, the first thing he did was to eyeball one of our group who was a special needs adult being fed some croissants + almond spread. The first thing he blurted out was “We do not allow outside food here”. This immediately put off the entire experience for our group and I had to calmly explain to him that it’s just for that special needs adult, we are paying customers and will order a lot of food. Only then was he content to proceed to take our order.

This was a real shame since some of the waiters were warm and smiley, the food was decent and had generous portions and the environment was brightly lit. The tone-deaf, unempathetic waiter really spoiled the entire evening for our 2 families.

If you have a special needs member in your group, be warned that you may also get a disappointing tone-deaf experience like we did even though our total bill almost...

The chilli offers a gentle heat—mild enough to enjoy the whole piece without discomfort. The onion is nicely grilled, adding a subtle sweetness and smoky depth.
