Updated review: Service has really dropped here since the below review. Other than Joel, the servers keep changing and are no longer as welcoming and friendly. The mocha is no longer as tasty as before, quiche is dry, and food portions have definitely gotten smaller - though prices have increased! This is such shame as Yin's was my go-to brunch place and we used to visit at least once a week. I will still visit but not as often as before. This is very disappointing.
I purchase sourdough bread regularly from Yin's kiosk (LG) floor and was informed by staff that there is a cafe on 2nd floor. We visited on CNY2 when there wasn't a crowd. Staff were friendly and attentive as soon as we entered. Order and payment was through an app which may be an issue to some, but it was easy for us. Our drinks and food arrived almost immediately, much to my surprise! I thoroughly enjoyed the quiche, spaghetti bolognese, and cafe mocha (rich and not too sweet). I was so impressed, I ordered another quiche, chicken pie, and apple pie to go. The quiche and apple pies are must-tries!
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely...
Read moreI had never liked quiche, but the quiche served here is good. I also usually don't like tomatoes in the quiche, but the tomatoes in here are very sweet and flavourful. The quiche tastes like a nice balance of eggy and cheese flavours. Very nice for a light meal. The price point is quite fair, too.
The operations manager is very helpful with explaining how they don't use chicken stock in flavouring their pastries. It's insightful, and as I was savouring the quiche, it gave me a deeper appreciation for its clean flavours. Each ingredient shines in its own way. The pastry edge was a little bit hard but nice buttery flavours. The manager explains that their Damansara Uptown outlet has a bit more range of pastries, and I do look forward to trying it out.
Even their simple long black is done well with a very nice layer of crema at the top. The price for coffee is also very fair and reasonable.
Overall, their baked goods (which I believe is the reason they're most popularly known for) is at a very sweet price point for the quality they are serving. Especially at a mall. Very good place to consider for breakfast...
Read moreFirst I come to the window, a Malay girl approached and serve me. That I think is a good service.
I ordered a Cinnamon Raisin Roll, super dry, I ask the waiter how many days they keep and resell all the pastry. The waiter claims that all are fresh everyday, which I don’t agree and told them I tried the cinnamon roll last time, it’s totally different. Then the waiter say he can change it to other pastry for me? Means the pastry is really not fresh?
Then when I want to order main course, raise hand but nobody attend to me. You got 4 floor staff, 3.30pm not a busy hour. What a good customer service :) Especially the Chinese waitress, don’t ever face your butt to customer.
Food I ordered Beef Shakshuka. Serve a super fully cooked egg. As per picture show in menu, it’s poached egg. Kombucha Beef? Serve cold tomato sauce? It’s cold like taking out from chiller… smoothie is so so. Poppyseed is good, same like last time I ate.
Overall very bad experience. Came twice but the service and food drop so much… Even a standard service I’m fine and acceptable, but your staff don’t even reach...
