We were very impressed with Thistday Bar at first glance. Staff are abundant and quick to serve, food is delicious, location is prime, and the entertainment is easily enjoyable. That's where it begins and ends. The staff maintain a pace of service that eventually becomes a little much especially when you want to take your time while dining here. If you want to wait to order food the staff will take your menu instead of leaving it for you to decide what you want to order. If you have a menu on your table they'll keep asking you if you're ready to order. Food and drinks arrive at your table at a lightning fast pace. They watch your every move to see if you have an empty plate or glass to be removed from your table and are ready to hand you your bill at moments notice. My wife and I were here celebrating the eve of her birthday. I asked several staff members in private, who were constantly swarming around our table, if I could order a dessert for her because it was her birthday and was told sorry kitchen is closed by all of them. I wasn't offered an alternative to order for the occasion, nor even offered a suggestion as I wanted to surprise her when the clock struck midnight. They all ignored my request as though they could care less and weren't even interested in helping me surprise her. I asked again if there was anything they could do for her birthday and they all ignored my question. When midnight arrived I wished her happy birthday, hugged and kissed her, and took selfies of the occasion as they all watched. They wouldn't even offer to take a picture for us even after they all heard me wish her a happy birthday. They all but ignored us during the moment and even walked away towards other tables. I'm extremely disappointed that we chose to celebrate the beginning of her birthday here. What was supposed to be a highlight of our honeymoon was ruined by their lack of compassion. A couple of days later we went to have dinner across the street at Three Amigos Mexican restaurant and, though it wasn't as crowded, the staff stopped the music and played a Happy Birthday song for one of their guests and their staff came out to clap and celebrate the occasion for them. Seeing this brought a somberness for both of us, as Three Amigos at least acknowledged the birthday of one of their guests. I hope this was an isolated moment with the staff of Thistday Bar because this place is really wonderful, they have great prices, great food, and I hate having to leave this kind of review for them. The pictures I've posted are the selfies I took to celebrate her...
Read moreWe decided to walk along the beach searching for somewhere for dinner and found this amazing place, located right in the middle of Cenang Beach in this beautiful part of the world.
Our table was located under the tall palms with the sand between our toes in an aptly lit area toward the front.
We (4) had a truely delicious meal, starting with a traditional Malay favourite of Chicken Satay sticks followed by the "to die for" mushroom soup and various mains of seafoods and salads, all of which were first class, beautifully cooked and with presentation to impress. The Chefs are very talented!
Being fully licenced, beers, drinks and cocktails were flowing to the sounds of a great band, not too loud, not to quiet, just right!
We finished with coconut icecream, yummalicious!!!!!
To the staff that looked after us, from the moment we arrived until the end, a very BIG THANK YOU for a most enjoyable and memorable evening.
Keep up the great work and attitudes, you should all be very proud.
I am an Executive Chef with a very large international hotel group and I am very impressed and pleased to recommend this establishment.
Oh, btw, the staff had no idea who I am until the end, so no "cooked up service etc".
Thank you...

Following a thrilling Jetski Tour around Langkawi’s Islands, Thirstday was a sight to behold! Offering foods and drinks, we were all ready for a lunch break.
As we walked through the sandy pathway entrance, the waiters directed us to the closest table with perfect view of the beach, islands and vibrant activity of the water sports culture.
Having been out on the sun all day, the massive umbrella hovering over our table offered much needed shade.
First up! Drinks! The guys ordered canned beer (fear of fake alcohol), which came out in iced buckets to keep it cool throughout lunch. Girls ordered Coconut Milkshake which tasted so refreshing without too much sweetness. 👌🏻🤤
As for foods, the King Prawns were definitely everyone’s favorite. With veggies and chips, it was a good balance of carbs and refreshing salad. As for starters, Garlic Bread was the fav.
Would recommend for convenience,...
