I was in Melaka for a short holiday on a week day and many places were closed on that day.

After checking many reviews decided to try this shop that offer Melaka chicken rice ball as one of the meal.

Arrived there right before lunch and there was minimal crowd. The wait service was courteous and was good with their suggestion of food.

In the end we ordered their Chicken Rice Ball with chicken drumstick, their special of Taiwanese braised pork rice and french toast.

The chicken rice was fragrant, tasty and not soggy. The chicken meat was tender and juicy that complements the rice superbly. The portion was generous for that price.

The Taiwanese braised rice was also a suprise as it the mest was melt in your mouth quality and the portion is great. If you prefer the rice to be soak with more gravy, do ask the server for more as they will more than happy to give more.

The most suprising dish was the french toast. It was done beautifully whereby the bread was not soggy with uncooked egg while the layer of egg coating the bread is thick by standards. Each bite into the bread makes me feels wonderful.

Definitely a recommended place for a quiet and...

This place could be overlooked most of the time because it's located at quite a quiet location (seems like only shop that serve food around the block) and looks sketchy with the heavy tinted door making it look like it's closed most the time. Don't let this fool you or make you doubt the food.

Inside is rather homey feel. They serve various western to hainan dishes. For us, the main highlight was their Boneless Chicken Rice (YES BONELESS). Not many place serves up boness steam chicken. The chicken size was huge even their rice balls were bigger. The whole chicken was only RM50 which is cheap considering the size and boneless! Definitely recommend this place if you want to get away from those touristy chicken rice at jonker.

We also ordered their signature pork which is their deep fried pork. This is another dish recommended.

Well, when I first bite, it was yummy. Beats of all others chicken rice. The chicken breast is big and juicy! Rice portion just nice. However, the more I eat continuously, I felt salty. So, I drank my plain water bottled. And learn to eat again with their taste. Hmm, it is salty. The chicken rice is salty as well as the chicken. It is well seasoned but possibly to go a little less salt? Not because I don’t like salt, but it could be overpowering the taste of fragrant chicken rice. That makes me rate 4 stars for the food.
