Nando's AEON Bandaraya Melaka — Restaurant in Malacca

I’m a regular customer, but not for this place as I lived in KL. I came to this aeon melaka nandos for lunch last two weeks and it was disgraceful and horrible. We’re six pax, table 19 if I’m not mistaken.. when our chicken sets arrived I was surprised by the chicken portion sizes yes of course if I want more flesh I order breast, but even thigh was just ridiculous. You think I only eat chicken thighs yesterday? that I don’t know how the sizes of thigh and the flesh in it looks like? So I ask this waitress, plum hijab girl with glasses why is so thin even the drumstick she told me if I want flesh I should order breast.

By the time she walked away she went to the grill area and start standing there, there is this boy waiter was folding a paper bag and she started chatting with him.. as my eyes locked on her I started to see the boy eyes was looking at my table and looking at me and she’s still mumbling and continuing gossiping, I went to her and she didn’t realize I was behind her she start to gossip about me - the table 19 complaining about the thighs and start rolling her eyes. I came to her and I told her if you really want to bad mouthing your customer go behind and do it.

You are on the floor, front of the house and this is what you were doing? Badmouthing your customers like nothing ! As I am in FNB for nearly 15 years I would have terminated this girl for a very long time.

And I believe when they are hired they will have courses of training to go with Nando’s so they know the entire process and SOP’s.

So is this part of the training from the MOD or HQ? Badmouthing and gossip on the floor about particular customers table after table?

She still have guts to answer me when I told her off. Customer is not always right customer is not always wrong either.

the service is poor. the staff lady not informative at all!! we came at 17.35 and she let us sit down and gave the menu book.

Then she said my nanny can’t eat there because it’s not allowed for moslem (she’s wearing hijab and not fasting that day because can’t do it that day) and OK, I understand, and I ask my nanny to go outside the restaurant.

But then after she left, the staff lady told me again that I need to go out from the restaurant 18.20 because all the table are booked and no table left at all and she hasn’t put the reserve label yet on the table and she said the kitchen will taking so longgg to prepare my order (which we can assume, she is not allowing us to eat there!! and not even asking us to order for take away, or any other option that will help us to still eat Nando’s)

My question to Nando’s: if you don’t want any walk-in customer to come before breakfasting, why don’t you put a signage that it’s already full reserve or say in very first before we enter the restaurant and we only have couple minutes to order and eat and asking if we are willing to wait?

The staff lady, you are really wasting my time and giving me such a bad experience for tourist as I came to Malaysia and really craving of Nando’s and wanna try it buttttt you let me down :(
