Booked 7pm and reached at 6.50pm with a cake for Mother's day celebration, however, end up we had to cancel our dinner at 8.30pm as the wait is too long. Worst experience ever, they should at least told us that we have to wait for 2 hours to be served. Only Chinese tea was served while we wait patiently, they can estimate how long it will take as they rejected all the walk in customer after us, but they did not inform us how long was the waiting time when we came, we did check with the lady boss how long we should wait after 30 minutes of waiting, but all the boss lady say is she is trying her best to serve us. There are few groups who reached after us with so called “Booked and reserved dishes in advance”, no issue that they serve them first as we didn’t reserve any dishes upfront. But it is unacceptable for us to wait about 2 hours for our orders to be served. If you wish to go there, please book and reserve dishes in advance, otherwise please don't bother. No matter how good the food is. 2 hours is not...
Read moreFound this restaurant in Melaka Raya area, just opposite Lee Swee Meng Restaurant (prev post) - and we popped by to try it the next day.
The dishes are very classic and homely.
We had the beggars chicken - which was amazing! Fresh herbal flavors, with tender chicken and refreshing nourishing broth. Amazing!
Pork belly with preserved vegetables - another old school dish that tasted amazing! So tender and flavorful.
Fish stew with yam. Lots of vege, great snapper fillets, fresh and appetizing soup. Really lovely! Great for sharing and chatting over this hot pot.
Tofu was also tasty.
We had marmite chicken strips and koloyok (sweet sour pork) - both were also really really tasty!
✨Overall Score: 9/10 ✨

Read moreCame for dinner with the fam on a weekend and it was packed, luckily we did reservation in advance and had a place to seat. Though we ordered dishes in advance, there was still a wait of around half an hour for dishes to be served, advised not to come on an empty stomach. But overall the wait was worth it with the food being super delicious. We ordered their steam fish and it was sweet, fish was fresh. The sweet sour pork was crispy and yam ring was excellent too. We tried their home made tofu which was wiped clean before I could even take pictures by the kids. Overall a good place for a nice simple affair dinner and...
