Walked in on a Monday evening. Was excited to check this place out. (Should have checked google reviews first)

Great atmosphere. Enjoyed a cool breeze with dinner. Seating is comfortable and can accommodate large group of people. It’s free seating. Pros you are free to sit anywhere. Cons you see 2 pax sitting at a 6 pax table with the view of the fountain in the theme park (we were a party of 5)

It’s self service experience. Would be better if someone would brief the customers how to order food. You can see “headless chicken” walking around, confused.

We wanted to order the rm88 meat platter and unclear of the portion as there was no picture. So we asked the meat counter kitchen staff about the grams and size of meat. She was confused with our question as if we asked her where did the cow’s origin. She casually said it is what it is, we never weigh the meat. Well it’s all by luck and probably the chef goes by “aga-aga” (local slang for estimation). The platter was mediocre, lamb shoulder was chewy, beef brisket is lean, chicken was half a chicken (not that bad but not nandos quality). Lebanese flat bread taste sour and the bread taste uncooked. BBQ sauce was watery and taste like ketchup. Corn was probably the better dish on that platter.

We ordered peri peri chicken wing. It was good.l, almost tastes like the ones from IKEA. But 4pcs for rm26. Hmmmm. A bit pricey. Can’t rem the price for ikea wings. We ordered a second round of wings, but it wasn’t as nice. Not consistent in quality. 🙁

We walked to seafood counter to order the seafood bucket. It was normal, the butter cream flavour was not half bad.

The customer service was disappointing.

Firstly, we wanted to get the all day beer promotion RM121 for 3 pints. The beer counter payment machine was done so the staff asked us to come back later. So we went to order other food then came back. She said it’s still offline so directed us to another cashier to make payment. When we asked the beer promotion for rm121, she said it’s only until 8pm. It was 8:14pm. We had to pay full price rm129. We explained that we wanted to make payment before that but couldn’t. We waited and It wasn’t our fault. It’s their problem. The staff didn’t bother to apologise and just stared at us, asking us how we want to pay.

Secondly, We had a rm20 off rm100 RW Genting voucher and wanted to redeem (we forgot to use when we paid for seafood and meat) when we bought beer. Was informed that beer is not inclusive in the voucher redemption.

No manger was on site. Or maybe the staff didn’t bother or want to ask their manager to come handle our issues. This is extremely disappointing and this should’ve been handled better. Genting is a tourist attraction and as we are welcoming foreigners or local visitors to come enjoy and spend their money, our customers service providers has to be more tactful and more flexible. This is definitely not the kind of experience that will attract repeat customers. This place has so much potential and I look forward to better food and better customer service.

5 pax ordered 1 seafood bucket, 1 stir fried veg (rm22 for 250grams, and yes they stated the weight for vegetables and not meat) and 1 meat platter and 2 plates of chicken wings. 3 pints of Asahi Dry (good beer). Spent ard rm370. We had our fill but wasn’t...

I've been here and twice and I'm sure gonna go again next time when I get a chance to. But here is my issue, the food and the establishment.

My issues

The ordering system/routine is a little confusing. I get that the concept is like a market but still a little confusing because you order certain food and drinks at one counter and pick them up at the other. And mind you there's not only one bar, because there's 2 and 1 beverage cafe AND certain food like the fresh seafood you gotta order at their own counter. So little cardio is needed when you wanna get your food ordered and picked up.

The Food

The food I would say it's pretty good and well priced. Except for drinks, it can be ridiculously high and probably not worth it but hey maybe that's just me. I always ordered the margarita pizza, smoked beef brisket (from the Meat section), Oysters and hot chocolate for the cold weather. Overall, the food comes out pretty quick and pretty good too. I personally love the pizza and oysters mainly. The pizza is not cooked in a conventional, it was cooked in one of those brick looking ovens which always made the taste and texture more flavourful compared to fast-food pizza. The Canadian oysters, its taste fresh and it is pretty big too. There's no cooking involved since it's raw, so it really depends on the scale of freshness that you get on that day. However, this always baffles me... the drink took forever. Just to get a hot chocolate, I have to be patient waiting 2 staff serving drinks in a small bar to hundreds of their customers. It's dreadful I tell you that much.

Establishment

If I have to choose one word to describe it, it's "Chill". They have live bands too sometimes and are pretty spacious that could fit quite a big crowd. They have ushers to make sure you're not walking around looking for tables looking confused. Also, they control the crowd, especially this pandemic time avoiding close contact and congested area which made me feel a little safe given the kind of space and expected crowd.

Overall, definitely check them while you're up in getting and willing to spend a little more on good food...

My girlfriend and I came for a quick cooling trip to Genting during weekend. It was a real cooling night as there is always visible breath when we breathe. This place is the first time we come for dinner and drinks. It was really crowded and that’s why we came for a try.

Everything here is self service. For food, we will have to queue up at the counter to order and wait for our turn to pick up the food. They will give you a buzzer. We ordered two delicious burgers (Lamli Burger and Big Bangkok) beef and chicken. The flavours are really good but the chips are very disappointing as they are cold and soggy. My girlfriend said the beef patty was not as nice though. I don’t eat beef so I am not sure but my chicken is definitely tasty.

Other than that, we ordered drinks too to am warm up ourselves. One is red wine and the other is mule cocktail. Red wine was normal, nothing special but the mule cocktail was surprising nice with ginger taste. Really did warm me up and with the alcohol. Really good for winter time! Cold weather!

There are still more delicious food here and definitely we will come again. The environment is actually nice and warm at SK d corners because they put up fire pole. For some seats, you could also watch the big screen down at the water fountain there where you could enjoy the show while having you meals. Definitely will come...

Not sure if management takes note of the reviews here. I’ll give some constructive feedback if they’re reading. We ordered the Man vs Meat platter on a weekday afternoon. 1. Smoked brisket The brisket is dry and overdone, chopped into pieces and drenched with sauce to cover the strong taste of the beef. Beef used is definitely of a cheaper cut and quality. No taste of smoke or fire for sure, I’m guessing it’s done in an electric oven. 2. Lamb shoulder Doesn’t taste fresh at all, feels like it’s been sitting in a wet marinade for quite some time already. It was tough, chewy and feels like you’re chewing a piece of old tyre. 3. Roasted 1/2 chicken Again freshness is an issue, the chicken was totally dry and tasteless. Please do not put this quality chicken on a plate for the customers, it’s truly shameful. To sum it up, there is zero passion put into the cooking of the food served here. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen gotta wake up and see the quality of the food leaving the kitchen. If you have lost the passion as demonstrated by the food served, please step down and give that position to someone who actually cares.
