There are quite a few branches of this established brand in Taiping for freshly made traditional biscuits located around Taiping. This outlet located along Jalan Tupai is a stone's throw from Taiping Mall, and if you're staying around there, this would be the ideal outlet to visit.
Located along Jalan Tupai, parking is not really a problem here, and you should be able to sometimes even park right in front of the shop itself. Otherwise, consider parking in Taiping Mall, and take a stroll here.
This modest sized store packs in a lot of different offerings from their traditional biscuits to some new recipes that may or may not work for you. However, most patrons still visit to get the traditional heong peah and black sugar biscuits as they claim this is the best.
The store is not big as half of it is taken up by the bakery at the back of the shop, which lends even more credence that their biscuits are baked fresh daily. Prices are reasonable and don't be surprised that you'll walk out with more than you initially...
Read moreHave tried their traditional heong piah and biscuits before (gifted by Malaysian friends). Hence, decided to make a special pit-stop in Taiping (during our roadtrip; enroute to Penang) to grab afew packets/boxes of Chinese pastries for our friends as well. Would definitely support more often if they have an outlet or pop-up store in Johor! :)
However, I do believe that no matter how good the products (and packaging) are, a company's image and credibility will easily be tarnished by poorly trained front-of-house staff and all the effort as well as hard work put in by back-of-house operation and production team will go down the drain too. The staff in the shop don't seem to show much interest in attending to customers - not just this outlet but also at their main branch - and most of our queries were met with nonchalant replies....
Read moreI've been a loyal customer, always savored the freshness and texture of your biscuits since my youth. However, I must express concern about recent quality issues. Despite assurances of same-day baking, I've noticed a decline in quality. The maltose has become tougher, and the inconsistency coupled with price hikes (today is MYR 8.50 per pack - the traditional pack) is disappointing, especially considering the standards of previous years.
This feedback is directed to the owner, urging serious attention to address customer concerns. Ensuring the sustainable growth of the business requires addressing the issues raised by customers promptly and be able to retain your regular customers before they...
