Dont think the place deserves the hype. Waited for more than an hour and still no food, despite asking directly from the counter several times. There were easily four other tables that got there after us and got their kuay teow goreng biasa. Ordered kuay teow special, but the ones flying out of the kitchen was kuay teow biasa. Perhaps could advise on us to order just kuay teow biasa as obviously they were only making that. It is understandable that there were too many customers and they only cook one dish to cater to all. Walked out there with no food and no apology or explanation. Don't really expect that, but the least is to get an advise and update on the food when asked. It's true that business owner can get cocky and too comfortable. Was honestly disappointed with the experience. Next time, whenever I'm visiting Taiping, I'm just gonna...
Read moreVisited Doli kway teow in Taiping with family in the evening of 1/1/25 at 8 pm. Service was poor. In spite of our orders being scribbled on a piece white paper, with a copy probably being given to the kitchen, my mee rebus turned into kway teow rebus. It took sometime before the mee rebus came and that was not even hot. My wife's order of kway teow special was piled up to the brim of a plate too small for its contents. That too was cold and apparently pre-cooked . I could see from the payment counter that a large amount of precooked kway teow was kept in a large pan in the kitchen and scooped into plates for serving to customers with the amount and the number of prawns added varies according to the price ordered. Quality of food and service is way below expectations. I would definitely not recommend this place...
Read moreJust to make it clear, i was born and bred in Taiping, so this is a point of view of a local.
This place has established a name as one of the best char kweyteow in Taiping, and has gained reputation beyond the borders of Perak.
From my point of view, it is overwhelmingly overrated. The kweyteow for me tastes like a decent kweyteow that you can buy at the pasar malam, the one that is cooked in those big pots. I really don’t understand what is the fuss about. The service is extremely slow (we ended up not getting only one plate of kweyteow, instead of the 2 that we ordered). We also ordered the chicken rice, again just mediocre at its best. The chicken and soy sauce is extremely salty.
Maybe it is just my tastebuds, but i will not recommend this...
