Good golly miss dolly...this IS the famous DOLI kuey teow of Taiping, with a branch in TTDI, but its never the same as the ORIGINAL one in Tepen...We havent been here for years...but the taste still remains the same..Local tepen residents still fondly remember when they used to operate from beneath the Larut Matang Supermarket..an open air foodcourt outlet, which made you all sweaty while waiting for your order.. The classic dish is obviously the Doli kuey teow special..which cost RM13 at today's rate..But if you havent had it for awhile, you wouldnt want to miss it for the world!!😋😋😋

Just to make it clear, i was born and bred in Taiping, so this is a point of view of a local. This place has established a name as one of the best char kweyteow in Taiping, and has gained reputation beyond the borders of Perak. From my point of view, it is overwhelmingly overrated. The kweyteow for me tastes like a decent kweyteow that you can buy at the pasar malam, the one that is cooked in those big pots. I really don’t understand what is the fuss about. The service is extremely slow (we ended up not getting only one plate of kweyteow, instead of the 2 that we ordered). We also ordered the chicken rice, again just mediocre at its best. The chicken and soy sauce is extremely salty. Maybe it is just my tastebuds, but i will not recommend this place to anyone.

Food with no human touch. Serving staff are very unfriendly. None of them smiled throughout our visit. When waiter wanted to serve drinks, he just kicked 1 chair aside (that chair is used by my daughter but she was washing her hands at the time). I've never seen a waiter kick chairs aside before in my whole life. What a joke. Kuey teow was so-so only. Plus we had a fried insect along with our order. Lesson learnt. Don't get too hyped for something popular.

Ya Allah pengalaman paling buruk lah makan sini since last makan. Serious buruk sangat. Waktu order, nak minta kteow goreng taknak sayur. Katanya, “tukang masak kata dia taknak terima order tanpa sayur sebab dia sorang je yang menggoreng.” Owwwhhhh, no wonder lah slow. Takpalah ingatkan tak ramai orang laju sikit, tapi ya Allah SLOW GILA (sis jarang sebut gila tapi ni memang bagai nak naik gila rasa). Dah lah tak boleh sambung meja. Kami dah tersambung sendiri pastu ubah balik sebab hormat kedai orang kan. Dalam 30min baru dapat kteow goreng. 35-40min baru nasi ayam sampai. 45min baru mi kari sampai, tapi kan mi kicap kteow kicap anak2 ni tak sampai2 even lepas 45min. Ya Allah 🤪🫥😤😠 apa yang lama sangat tak tahu. Rupanya memang sorang ja yang menggoreng, orang yang sama tu juga ambil duit tak heran langsung dengan customer yang ramai lagi tak dapat makanan. Siyes tak patut, buruk sangat perangai. Bila kita komplen, muka buat derk ja. Nak naik hantu dah mak ni weyh. Mohon improve. Dan mohon customer lain yang ada pengalaman yang sama, share sekali. Sebab time kami pi, dalam 5-6 meja juga yang muka masam air dah habis minum makanan tak sampai lagi. Kalau yang rasa nak makan kteow goreng sedap lagi daripada ni, tolong lah pi try Kteow Goreng pakdin pokok sena, pulau pinang. Yang ni siyes sedap sangat2, servis laju. Kerang segar.

first of all, the impression i got is recommended. but the impression faded off as i had to stay in there more than what i expected. taste wise it's not too bad. i would not use frozen ready-made shrimps as it may spoil the taste. the other thing is the waiting time. i find it a little bit of annoying and i believe there must be a way to go speedier instead of trying to do it the old way.. but that's just me.

We specifically came here for the kuey teow goreng and was not disappointed. You'll need to order the moment u enter the premise and be seated afterward. They did not accept card payment but tng ewallet and qrpay are available as an alternative. They did not skimp on the shrimps with the kuey teow goreng special. Barley limau ais is the best thirst quencher for Taiping unforgiving hot temperatures.
