Maria's Steak Cafe — Restaurant in Perak

The best steak I've had in Ipoh so far, was tasty, juicy, texture was amazing with a burst of flavors in each bite. Price and portion wise I would say it's reasonable within the market rate with the amazing taste, way better than the likes of Menate Steak House which is even way pricier and the taste doesn't match up to it's price, it was just bland. Toilets are clean and the staffs are nice. The environment wise they should turn the music down by a little bit and use more relaxed music so people can talk while eating. One thing can be improved, is the prices of the steak is in a separate messy hand written menu which just have a bunch of numbers and weight and type. They should document the prices of the steak in a more uniform and comprehensible manner so it would be easy for customer reference and understanding regarding the prices and availability. But when the steak is served, it was like 'Oh Lord' so delicious that I just want more and more, like I would literally not hesitate to buy 3 more plates. For the most part, the food here is fantastic and family-friendly. But two issues the management need to get right: 1.Train their waitresses to serve with a smile. Over the course of two years and many visits, the older waitress serving us has always been sulky and unwelcoming, as if our presence was just an inconvenience to her. Really! If it weren't for the awesome spicy mussels, seafood spaghetti, steak and tiramisu, we would never return. 2. The faucet in the ladies w/c needs to be replaced. The top for turning the water on and off is partially broken with sharp edges and customers who do not notice this may get a nasty cut. Nearly happened to me a couple of times. Maria's Steak Cafe really lived up to its reputation as one of the best places to get a steak in Ipoh, Perak. We went here, a party of four, for the first time, 2 weeks ago on a busy Saturday evening. Quality Black Angus steaks, sirloin, rib-eye or what have you, are cooked to perfection and accompanied by choice of sauce (all of us chose black pepper and it was superbly done). Sides include potato wedges and veggies. Other options include chicken, salmon and pasta. However, the service could be improved upon, ie it could be more systematic, prompt and efficient.
