The worse experience ever and I’m very disappointed with the service. We came all the way to Ipoh to celebrate my MIL’s birthday, which turned out to be a huge mess! Let’s go through one by one.
Reservations:
My SIL made reservations via their FB messenger and the admin had taken into account our reservations prior. Upon arriving, we found out that our reservation was not notified AT ALL! Situ dah buat mood hilang. But okay, takpa. Kita abaikan masalah yang itu.
Ordering:
This branch is COMPLETELY UNDERSTAFFED. No staff bothered to come and check if we’re ready to order. When called, seorang pun tak datang. My SIL & husband decided to just bring the menus to the reception counter and ordered there. After giving the order, the staff never bothered to repeat the order. Bila tak kisah dan buat sambil lewa, memang akan ada order tertinggal. Kita order 2 fish n’ chips, 2 steak, 1 lamb, 1 pasta, 2 slices of cakes, 1 starter menu (nachos) side order of fries, 1 kids menu box A.
Time waiting:
Steaks came first. Then lamb. Lepastu pasta. Kami dah nak habis makan steak, lamb & pasta, fish n’ chips tak sampai, kids menu box pun tak sampai. It was almost 30 minutes of wait masa tu. We called the waiter, she just came back to our table and said- “they’re preparing”. Lepas dah hantar 1 order of fish n’ chips, we called her again asking about the remaining two remaining main order. Lepastu dia buat-2 tanya- BETUL KE ORDER 2 FISH N CHIPS???? Babe, we waited almost 40 minutes and you boleh tanya lagi? You patut tanya your staff kenapa dia key in 1 order of that!
Okayla fine we cancelled my AUTISTIC son’s fish n’ chips because waiting game was so strong it spoiled everyone’s mood by then. Nak kena tunggu lagi 40 minit agaknya.
The most funny thing is— THE STARTER MENU CAME IN SECOND LAST! Terkejut beruk semua orang?? Appetizers are supposed to come in first! How come your establish business tak tahu benda paling basic? My daughter’s MealBox came in last. Gila disappointed.

Read moreThis is my first time here in Ipoh branch. And it might be the last as well.. first the positives Food is nice. I ordered lamb shanks, ribs, carbonara and hawaiian chicken burger and 2 drinks (avocado and berry) .All good as expected, portion is decent. Lamb are well cooked, marinated nicely and although it might not be the best shank i have ever had but its definitely one of the best. In my opinion the food are served quick enough and waiting for that is not really a problem.. kudos to the kitchen team.
Now the negatives All your waitress (yellow shirts) are completely ignorant and i can say irresponsible. The one taking us to our table never inform that the apps is not working and have to order directly with the waitress.. when i came it is not during peak hours (530pm on a sunday), nobody came to us to take orders. I did go to the cashier telling her that i wanna order now ( after 10minutes trying the app and it is her telling me apps is not working). Nobody came to us even after 20minutes so the wife decided to order the lamb first. The staff there is good, and knowledgable, no issues on that . And she is the one telling about the complimentary drinks that come with the lamb dishes. Imagine if you never walk to any menate branch would you know that the drinks are complimentary if you do not order anything steak related?? Again, yellow shirts waitresses with stone faces, what are you doing?? After the wife is done with her order we waited again... guess what.. still no yellow shirts came to our table to take order. I came here with the kids and could you imagine waiting for more than 30minutes without anyone attending to take orders?? Finally the wife have to find one of the yellow shirts to take orders as at that time i am ready to burst with anger.
Please.. please manage your waitress and your staff well.. menate is visited by soo many people from all different races. I work next door at the hospital and no wonder none of my friends are willing to make a short walk to menate if the service...
Read moreA very disappointing lunch service. We ordered ribeye wagyu beef and the chicken schnitzel sandwich as mains with mushroom soup & garlic bread for starters. After about 10 minutes, the beef was served but we were informed that mushroom soup and garlic bread not available. Fine…but then it took another 15 minutes before the chicken sandwich arrived (after prompting the server). The chicken was barely coated with breadcrumbs and dry. The beef (cooked medium rare) was passable and hardly any flavour to be called wagyu. The hygiene of the restaurant is a bit sus with me having to wave the fly away and jostling with few wasps to use the self serve drinks dispenser. To complete my not so wonderful lunch , after I made the payment I was handed a phone to enter my phone number without any explanation. Only when I questioned why was my telephone number needed that I was told it was for points . Data privacy be damned. I accept that sometimes you won’t find the flavour of food at restaurant to be great but the fact that the shoddy service by the kitchen is unacceptable especially when there was only one other table being occupied. Me’nate? I think Me’NOT COMING BACK AGAIN!!!
Edit: In response to the owner’s request to contact the manager, I would have to respectfully decline this as I believe I have highlighted the issues that could be rectified for future diners such as ensuring cleanliness in the self serve area , ensuring that starters are available for lunch service and please be respectful of diners’ data privacy by not asking for telephone number without proper explanation. Provide better training for your front and kitchen staff so that they can make your manager aware of issues that diners might experience with the service.
