As I know here they @ Kak Leha restaurant serves the best traditionally prepare Malay menus.. Kak Leha specials are Ikan Keli @ Catfish either fried plain or with sambal...crispy and fresh. Her ikan patin masak gulai lemak cili padi another delicacy. Not to miss out her Gulai Tempoyak. She Kak Leha prepare personally all the above dishes as not to miss out the taste and quality of her secrets recipes. She had been in this business more than 40 years...as I knew her personally for more than 30 years. She use to run her business at the famous Pasar Bulat @ Round Market formally well known for Ipoh folks. Then she moved to Greentown later to opposite Gunung Ceroh area shop house. After left behind so many years finally I found out she is doing business at RPS...some Waller Court area..or next the Ipoh City Hotel area...nearby Kinta Riverview Hotel... I would personally will say she is the best Chef and moreover very friendly in nature...and also her last daughter who is helping out her mother...very polite and friendly too. She was born in Kuala Kurau..and grew up in Manong Kuala Kangsar .. Then she moved to Ipoh... Now residing in Pasir Putih Ipoh. ... Should not miss out this place those who visit Ipoh on holiday or vacation...or any business trips.. I wish her good health and May Allah keep up happy and...

Behind the RPS Corner Restaurant lurks a secret that attracts many Ipoh residents here. Kak Leha Restaurant.

Kak Leha is a village food entrepreneur that promises the original delicacy of mothers' cuisine. This is not the first time Kak Leha and RPS Corner have shared their sustenance because before this they had been together while in Greentown.

An interesting and must -try menu at Kak Leha Restaurant is fried catfish. Kak Leha has her own way of frying this catfish without tastes fishy. Apart from that, there are patin tempoyak which are also hunted by customers. There are almost 20 to 30 menus of village cuisine including sambal belacan and ulam.

For travelers who come to Ipoh, don't forget to stop by RPS Corner because apart from Kak Leha's hand -made dishes, there are also other food stalls such as curry noodles, lobak, nasi ayam penyek which are run by the owner of RPS...

This morning we visited this restaurant after seeing it recommended by an influencer. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.

Food: We ordered one “Nasi Lemak” and one “Yong Tau Foo with Noodle.” The taste was mediocre at best. To make matters worse, we found a plastic sheet in the noodles (see attached photo).

Service: The service was terrible. The staff and the shop owners were unfriendly and unhelpful.

Environment: The live band performing Malay songs was a nice touch and the restaurant attracts a diverse crowd. However, this doesn’t make up for the other issues.

Additionally, my wife accidentally broke a bowl while ordering. Despite her immediate apology, the lady boss publicly scolded her, making the experience even more unpleasant.

Overall, we had a very negative experience and would not recommend...

May 2025 I had the asam laksa. For RM7 with no fish bits in sight was a letdown. Not sour enough for the assembly but generous in the dressing g of onions, pineapple, cucumber, and mint leave. Nasi lemak was good. Beef rendang tender and very tasty. Missed the siamese laksa on Friday, which I heard is awesome. Had noodles also. Tasty soup. Noticed a lot of Malays having the curry mee and noodles. I guess the trend is Halal friendly Chinese food. Seems to be a huge turnout of regulars as they know the cashier who is guess is the owner's daughter. This is muhibah at it's best.

My favourite place for brunch. Coffee here is really good and their Siamese laksa (laksa lemak) is super delicious and very flavourful. This is offered on Fridays only. Other specialities include nasi kerabu (Saturdays only) and mee udang (Wednesdays only). A variety of noodles, chicken rice, fried rice and nasi lemak available. You can also opt for nasi and lauk with ulam for lunch prepared by a Malay lady who shares the place.
