As I know here they @ Kak Leha restaurant serves the best traditionally prepare Malay menus.. Kak Leha specials are Ikan Keli @ Catfish either fried plain or with sambal...crispy and fresh. Her ikan patin masak gulai lemak cili padi another delicacy. Not to miss out her Gulai Tempoyak. She Kak Leha prepare personally all the above dishes as not to miss out the taste and quality of her secrets recipes. She had been in this business more than 40 years...as I knew her personally for more than 30 years. She use to run her business at the famous Pasar Bulat @ Round Market formally well known for Ipoh folks. Then she moved to Greentown later to opposite Gunung Ceroh area shop house. After left behind so many years finally I found out she is doing business at RPS...some Waller Court area..or next the Ipoh City Hotel area...nearby Kinta Riverview Hotel... I would personally will say she is the best Chef and moreover very friendly in nature...and also her last daughter who is helping out her mother...very polite and friendly too. Kak Leha is a village food entrepreneur that promises the original delicacy of mothers' cuisine. This is not the first time Kak Leha and RPS Corner have shared their sustenance because before this they had been together while in Greentown.
An interesting and must -try menu at Kak Leha Restaurant is fried catfish. Kak Leha has her own way of frying this catfish without tastes fishy. Apart from that, there are patin tempoyak which are also hunted by customers. There are almost 20 to 30 menus of village cuisine including sambal belacan and ulam.
For travelers who come to Ipoh, don't forget to stop by RPS Corner because apart from Kak Leha's hand -made dishes, there are also other food stalls such as curry noodles, lobak, nasi ayam penyek which are run by the owner of RPS...
Read moreThis morning we visited this restaurant after seeing it recommended by an influencer. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.
Food: We ordered one “Nasi Lemak” and one “Yong Tau Foo with Noodle.” The taste was mediocre at best. To make matters worse, we found a plastic sheet in the noodles (see attached photo).
Service: The service was terrible. The staff and the shop owners were unfriendly and unhelpful.
Environment: The live band performing Malay songs was a nice touch and the restaurant attracts a diverse crowd. However, this doesn’t make up for the other issues.
Additionally, my wife accidentally broke a bowl while ordering. Despite her immediate apology, the lady boss publicly scolded her, making the experience even more unpleasant.
Overall, we had a very negative experience and would not recommend...
