Simple Cafe & Treats — Restaurant in Perak

Love the vibe with some of the antiques as decoration in the restaurant.

Chowder was my favorite, creamy and flavorful with a puff pastry on top of it. Nut chicken was great too, chicken strips coated with satay sauce. Mushroom soup was not bad but is thin in consistency. The Hawaii pizza was just okay, they placed chicken sausages, pineapples and mozzarella on top of it, the sauces was too sweet and spread way too much, the entire pizza was spoiled by the sauces. It should be a savory not dessert.

Had been trying for most of the cakes and those were great, but the tiramisu espresso I tried few days ago were just okay. I didn’t know there’re liquor in it as the name sounds like it has only coffee and tiramisu flavor, but I was wrong. It doesn’t even have the taste of tiramisu at all, it’s super strong and sharp alcohol in the middle layer and after a few bites, we are unable to continue anymore because of the bitterness and sharpness from the liquor, not sure if it’s in the ladyfingers or the cream cheese.

Suggest that they could have a small remark on the tag to mention which cakes are...

Walked in and was greeted by a young girl — okay, weird but fine. Browsed the cake display — RM45–RM65 per slice (are you kidding me?). Ordered the Espresso Tiramisu bullshit it was an absolute disaster and the taste? Very very bitter it reminds me of like soy sauce, with a hint of beer — completely inedible. Presentation: disappointing. Atmosphere: trying to be “vintage,” but honestly feels haunted. For the price and quality — save your money and your taste buds.

The cake is fine but the food is terrible. The chicken cordon bleu - basically chicken wrapped with ham and those cheapskate RM1 sausages from Tesco and it’s priced at RM30. Nuts on chicken - the sauce is good but the chicken is anything but tender, and the salad is so small and drenched in too much thousand island sauce. Carbonara spaghetti is bland. For similar pricing there are way better cafes in Ipoh like Fish & Chips by Bareesta, Girlies cafe, aud’s, Opeam etc. Would never visit...
