Chateau DeCanter @Damansara Utama — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Wine lounge with zero common sense.

We left a bottle of liquor at Chateau DeCanter @Damansara Utama, expecting to enjoy it on our next visit. My mistake—I thought a place that calls itself a wine lounge would actually know how to store alcohol, or at the very least, how to talk to their customers.

Came back about a year later, and they tell me: “Oh, we only keep bottles for 45 days.” Really? That would’ve been nice to know before you threw it away. No one mentioned it when I left the bottle. No label, no receipt note, no sign. Just… gone.

And to be clear—it wasn’t even wine. It was liquor, which anyone with basic knowledge knows can be stored for years without any issue. So I’m left wondering—was this about space, poor storage, or just laziness?

If you’re going to offer bottle storage, how hard is it to let people know the rules up front? A simple heads-up would’ve gone a long way. Instead, it feels like you just quietly get rid of bottles and hope no one asks.

Very unimpressed. This place tries to look fancy, but the service logic doesn’t match the vibe. Not coming back—and definitely won’t be...

This is the first time for me to visit this place since one of the staff that is quite close to me works three . Situated in Damansara Utama, it is one of the high-end Bar, Restaurant and Bistro. . A guests are not only to have their body temperature scanned and registration through MySejahtera, each guests will be sprayed with body-sanitizing path. Something that assures all guests are fully sanitised. . The bar is situated on the 2nd floor whilst the Japanese Restaurant is on the 3rd floor. . Cool beautiful romantic ambience is the decor of the bar whilst the Japanese Restaurant makes you feel that you're actually in Japan with the decor. . There will be one-man band performing every night. In the bar, not only liquors are served, they too have simple bites like chicken drummets, pizza, fried French Fries are available to bites in-between drinks. . It is a Non Smoking Bar but they had never forget guests who smoke where Smoking Area are available. Toilets are totally clean, dry and well maintained. . This place is highly recommended for drinkers and listening...

This place is so loud that you can't hear yourself think-not only is the band loud,the music they play at intermission is equally loud-you can't hear yourself think-so not a place for a quiet date night-decent live musicians only display... an offer of rm180++ for 11 beers is decent even if it is for tiger... Food was kinda average if you ask me-nachos were ok..signature fried pork was wel mainly batter as opposed to meat... and wasn't consistent-some parts were soggy whereas some were crispy... I won't be back-if you can't finish the beers you can park them for your next visit-we finished ours so I won't have to go back... it's tbh kinda ah beng ah Lian kinda place-more canto pop than adult...
