D'italiane @Paradigm Mall — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

First experience here for a birthday lunch. First impression was OK but the restaurant felt warm. They have a big space and seating area however they've decide to squeeze almost everyone into the same section. We ordered chicken tenderloin, chicken morengo, cheese stuffed beef, seafood risotto and chilli chicken pizza. Everything was satisfying except anything that contains seafood. They are not fresh. The prawns are not fresh at all. Avoid at all cost. We pre-ordered 1kg of the zabaglione cake and it was out of this world. Its the best cake we've ever had. The cream is soooo good especially when it's cold. Highly recommend to try the cake. For the price and standard of the restaurant, they could at least hire staff that can communicate well with customers. I cant even get the staff to bring me serviette (he didn't understand tissue either) and I had to point to the said item. Customers will get frustrated if they have difficulty communicating with the staff. Overall, it was a not bad experience. Will definitely order the cake for other occasion again.

Extremely distasteful service

When we were at the entrance of the restaurant, one of the staff told us to wait for 2 minutes although there was an empty table ready to be seated. After waiting for more than that, that staff did not get back to us. We had to ask another staff and the staff brought us to that empty table.

The lasagne with lamb and spinach was lack of seasoning. Hence, I tried to call for a waiter to request for salt and pepper. A waiter clearly saw my hand raised but he just walked away. After a while, another waiter passed by our table and my friend requested for salt and pepper. The waiter heard what he said, but just walked away without any acknowledgement and did not come back to our table. Such rude treatment is really shocking in the food service industry.

In addition, my friend ordered a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, but they served us garlic bread instead.

I had a really unpleasant experience in this restaurant. The management needs to do something about the rude and poor service...

Serves nice Italian food with lots of vegetarian options. Started off with bruschetta, toppings & bread were tasty & good match. Tomatoes & olives were fresh & vibrant.

Next up the minestrone soup, it's silky in texture & not watery like some. Well balanced taste of tomatoes & seasoning. Liked it.

The mains consists of pizza Funghi (crust is crunchy & light), 3 cheese baked penne (melting & pulled cheese) great for cheese lovers. Funghi asparagus risotto is good too. Serving is quite adequate. Lastly we had the mushroom lasagna. It was served with gravy not the typical dry lasagna. Something different but I preferred the cheesey classes. Just a personal preference though.

Ambiance was good subtle lightings & tables to cater for larger groups. Wine, coffee are available. For costings, it's above average, be prepared to spend RM 60 & above per pax. Depends on what you order.

However, they do serve plain water too. Parking is ample as it's located inside of Paradigm Mall. Worth a try for...
