I arrived at Hot Bird around 12:40 PM on a Saturday, I was met with a bustling scene. The restaurant was packed, and a queue of diners stretched out the door. I had to wait a solid 40 minutes before I was finally seated. Hot Bird Burger Combo – RM23.90 - 4.5/5 The Hot Bird Burger itself was a standout. The chicken patty was delightfully crispy on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside. The Hot heat level was just right – spicy enough to provide a kick without overwhelming the palate. The burger’s sauce complemented the patty perfectly. It reminded me of a McSpicy Chicken Deluxe, but with a noticeable upgrade in taste and quality. The Cajun Fries were another highlight. They were well-seasoned, crispy, and came with a dipping sauce reminiscent of MyBurgerLab’s offerings. This sauce added an extra layer of flavour, making the fries a delectable side dish. As for the Signature Coleslaw, it was pleasant but not particularly memorable. It was well-balanced in sweetness and crunch, but it didn’t offer any standout features that would set it apart from other coleslaws. Drumstick a la carte - RM10 - 4/5 The fried chicken came with a slice of toasted bread beneath it, presumably to absorb any excess chili oil that might seep out. The Super Hot chicken was indeed super hot – not just in terms of spice but also temperature. It was piping hot when I received it, and even after finishing my burger, the chicken remained warm. The chicken skin was delectably crispy, delivering a satisfying crunch. However, the Super Hot spice level was a bit too intense for my taste. I think I would have preferred the Hot flavour instead. When I peeled the chicken closer to the bone, I found that oil had seeped into the meat, making the inside quite greasy despite the crispy, non-oily skin. Mac & Cheese - RM12.90 - 3/5 While it was a decent option to help cool off the heat from the burger or fried chicken, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me in terms of rich creaminess and cheesiness. The Mac & Cheese lacked the indulgent, gooey texture that typically defines this comfort food classic. It was more on the mild side, which made it a good palate cleanser but not a standout side dish.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Finally after searching for so long, for far and wide. I've finally found it the legendary Nashville style hot chicken 🐔🍗🍗. Years of trying to get the recipe right myself and now finally I got one that's made by full blown authentic style. I've seen the process myself, they meticulously brine the chicken in buttermilk and deep fry it till it's golden perfection and finally the crème de la crème they smothered it in hot spicy delicious oil thay covered the chicken making it so tasty and spicy. My family went in an already packed store and we ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich, some cajun spiced fries and finally the main event the FRIED CHICKEN! Now for the Chicken Sandwich, it was definitely amazing as it was just as hot and spicy as we had asked for a level of hotness perfect to get our first taste of how spicy this meal was. Fun fact you have a few level of spices, zero being no spice and all the way to the eye watering REAPER! (I recommend to take the 3rd level of Hot as a place for beginners as it's gives a taste.) As for the fries, well I've had to admit it's delicious and well seasoned overall it's 👍. Now for the main event the Chicken 🍗🍗🍗. We ordered a 5pc meal chicken that came with fries, drink and coleslaw the usual. You maybe wondering what level did we picked on our dine with HOT BIRD, well... 2 were mild spice so that's good enough, then the other 2 was prepared in a Very Hot level and that was already starting to make us reactive. But for some reason we picked that 1 single chicken to be REAPER LEVEL OF SPICYNEES. Suffice to say our drinks weren't enough, just one Reaper level was so hot that eyes were watering, nose was watering and our tongue was on 🔥🔥🔥! BUT it was still delicious and we eventually finished it. All and all we had a great lunch in Hot Bird and me and my family will come again to this establishment. You're doing so well and great ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May you continue your success Hot Birds!

Fried chicken is a dish that’s really hard to get wrong but really hard to be exceptional. Hot Bird serves good chicken but nothing particularly special. I had quite a high eggs-pectation for the place looking at the other reviews and recommendations from friends. Went with the Peck Group set which was RM50. Came with 5 pieces, fries and coleslaw. Went with no heat and a mild cause I’m a wimp that can’t take spicy :( THE GOOD: Hands down the best FRIED chicken (emphasis on the fried) I’ve had in a long time. A good piece of fried chicken is piping hot when served where you can still squeeze the oil out. The meat was extremely tender and juicy. Half an hour in and my meal was still steaming. Also, the meat was full and the skin wasn’t hiding an empty crevice of air. The mild flavour spice on the skin was actually really good and I can only imagine how the other spicy levels would have tasted (albeit the chicken itself wasn’t fully marinated). Mild was already pretty spicy so if you like the heat, this is the place to be. It doesn’t have the artificial spicy flavour you’d get from Mcd or bigger fast food chains. The coleslaw was also really good. Hit and miss depending on your preference as my partner didn’t like it but I loved it. Ambience is as you’d expect from a fast food store. THE BAD This is mostly preference-based but I found the skin to be very bread-y and relatively flavourless for the no heat. It doesn’t have a crunch to it, more like a slightly soggy toast. It also has a strange powder like texture. I ended up just removing all the skin as it wasn’t adding anything to the chicken. Whilst the seasoning did have flavour, everything else did not. Fries were less than im-peckable. The seasoning again was great but the fries were hard and tasted like cheap frozen fries. They were also mostly lukewarm which was a stark contrast to the lovely piping hot meat. OVERALL: I do think Hot Bird is definitely worth the meal compared to other fast food chains, but in portion only. If you like hot and spicy fried chicken, this is worth a try but don’t expect a burst of flavour with your chicken. Hoping they’ll find a unique flavour because the chicken was cooked to per-peck-tion. Worth the try only if you are curious.

We found ourselves queuing at 3:00 pm for our lunch, at Damansara Uptown...How did we suddenly get into this unfortunate situation? Well, it started rather straight forward at first. We had planned to go somewhere nice for lunch. But we kept delaying our lunch to settle my wife's other errands first. By the time we were ready to eat, we found that the places we wanted to go were all closed, due to the fact that today is a public holiday! Out of nowhere, my wife suggested the Hot Bird in Damansara Uptown, thinking that it would please Daniel who was following us since the early morning. By the time we arrived there, it was already 3:00 pm, and there was already a long queue in front of us. Daniel didnt say anything then, and I was just patiently waiting inline behind about 12 young people. It took us a good 30 minutes before we were allowed in, to place our orders. By that time, Daniel had decided not to eat there!! My wife had thought that this place would be a favorite of his, as Najwa and Daniel had freqently ordered the food here through Grabfood. On the other hand, I was never a fan of this rather "hot" chicken...Hence, I simply requested for two pieces of "no heat" chicken, meaning they were NOT spicy at all, while my wife ordered hers with only a slightly spicy taste. Daniel was still adamant not to eat anything, while labelling us as "the only 2 above 25 years olds in the whole restaurant"... And guess what? He was correct!!

Hello there, I got to know this shop via a video in tiktok .. I visited you guys on 1st Sept .. before I get there I checked for reviews in Google maps bcz I always got fooled by tiktok review videos .. The reviews are 4 and 5 stars which really makes me excited to get food in there .. too crowded which makes me feel the food will be nice ..but everything changes after I take away my food to home .. I am not sure why you guys put a gardenia bread under the chicken .. why? Why? WHY? At first we thought it was like the kfc bun but no .. I never seen anything like this before ? Is it for absorb the oil ? Anyone pls explain to me about the bread .. And did you guys notice the chemical smell coming out from the sheet in the box ? That smell got absorb by the chicken and I lost my appetite.. Still I hate to waste food and continued to eat it .. next morning I having diarrhea.. I don't think so its because of spicy .. we choose mild and hot .. its not spicy at all If you notice the picture , the bread absorbs too much of oil and there is still oil swimming on that sheet .. I never seen anything like this .. so you guys fry the chicken and immediately pack it up with full of oil ? Even in the tiktok review I didn't see these much of oil .. The chicken taste funny too .. 3/10 .. The fries looks not good and dull also.. 3/10 .. I didn't take the pic sorry.. Coleslaw 5/10 just normal only..

Heard about this place from back then when they have only 1 branch, now baru nak cuba since so many people recommend. Place is packed, considering we go on weekends so understandable. Service is okay lah. Abit slow but I guess they made the chicken to order. Dapat panas2. They only served thigh and drumsticks so that's a plus point. We wanna try as much spice level as we can so had to go Ala carte rather than set menu since you cannot mix and match. Ordered hot(signature), Burn baby Burn(2nd most) and Reaper (the spiciest). Overall flavor is good. Macam American style fried chicken. For normal people hot is spicy enough, both BBB and reaper had the same flavour but with just different chilli powder. For my taste, they put too much spice you can literally taste the raw spice, bitter aftertaste. Pedas but that's it. Wish they consider the flavor too besides spice level. Cajun fries is awesome, crispy outside, fluffy inside, full of seasoning. Peanut butter milkshake is also good, not too sweet and you can actually taste the strong peanut flavour. Both really helps when you want to tone down the chicken's spiciness. Another plus point, they give free ice cream if you show them your Google review. Woot. Tldr : Chicken is good, juicy, but wish they consider adding flavor to the batter instead of just spices on top of spices to make it more pedas.
