FT is run by all Thai nationals and served authentic Thai food. The place is much presentable these days. I used to sweat buckets after a meal here but no longer the case as they've installed some portable evaporative air-conditioner. It's much comfortable dining here now. We ordered :- a) Tom Yum Nam Khon (coconut milk version) @ RM18 - Broth was good, in terms of color and taste. coconut milk taste is subtle but nice. Fresh squid and few slices of fish and a tad overcooked 3 medium sized prawns. b) Thai fish cake @ RM12 - mediocre. c) Grilled cockles @ RM10 - very fresh and not bloody at all. The dipping sauce is addictive! d) Steamed squid with spicy chili & lemon sauce @ RM20 - Fresh squids came swimming in the broth rather than sauce as the menu suggested. I would have omitted the tom yum if I knew so. This was ok but I prefer the Ruay Thai BBQ @Taman Desa version better. e) Thai stinky beans with pork rice set @ RM10 - This was good! Tasty, crunchy stinky beans and savory minced pork. Very generous serving. The spoiler is that overcooked sunny side up! f) 2 wild rice @ RM4 - only choice. No plain white rice! g) 2 Thai Iced milk tea @ RM10 - Only taste milk and not aromatic at all. Prefer the porky society version. Creamier and the tea is so aromatic.
Overall, food was satisfying. Service is fast, friendly and with a smile, except for a particular lady. (boss i assume) who checks the bills. Cold and not welcoming at all! Nevertheless, I'll still return for more good Thai cooking! p/s - No beef served and no belacan too! Also, there's Thai condiments, kuih and dessert for takeaway at the entrance of the...
Read moreWaze your way here , and first timers are in for a surprise. The location, the parking, the ambience, the service, the taste and the price will not add up. Not in a negative way, but in a surprisingly positive way. A low cost 6 storey residential building residees above this one unit small restaurant, yet it stands out in all other aspect as if you are dining in a posh and premium outlets such as Mont Kiara or perhaps Bangsar. The menu and the chefs are of Thai origin. If they had inspired you to attempt Thai cuisine in your own kitchen, then all their secret ingredients are available for sale like a little supermarket. Tom yum was very unique, and the same for the Pandan Chicken as well as chicken feet salad. Just for a few moments, you will need to adjust your expectations and before you know it, the acquired taste will be much appreciated. This is not the conventional Thai dish that you might have tasted all these years. Overall, the food presentation, the utensils and the taste will leave a lasting impression. Want to surprise your loved ones, then this is the right place for the right price, depending on your affordability. Nevertheless worth checking...
Read moreHad a good Thai meal at this place. One will likely feel that they are in Thailand once getting inside of this restaurant. Food surely is authentic given all chefs are Thais and very likely ingredients are also sourced from Thailand. You not only get to savious the cuisine but also buy some Thai produce back home.
Pricing is really good. I would say that it is cheap for the stuff that you can get. Plenty in the menu hence it is not a surprise that this place have quite a fair bit of regulars. Desserts are also plenty but during dinner, most of the popular ones were already out of stock e.g. mango sticky rice and water chestnut. They even have stir fried worms!
Restaurant is small. Hence, it gets really crowded. You will likely need to wait for a table during normal meal times. Hence, this is a place to eat and move out. There is no room for an after meal chit chat as there will likely be customers peering over yr shoulder signalling that yr time is up.
Parking is a problem. Restaurant has flats above it hence one have to be very patient. Pls also adhere to the parking rules. Else, you may see issues with yr car...
