Made a reservation for 8 pax and was given a private room. LOVE the naruto and one piece decor in the room. Was really surprised how attentive the staff was (cleared empty dishes regularly and top up our drinks regularly) Despite us being in a private room (there are also buttons there to press to call them if needed).
To order your food, there is a QR code that will send you to Beepit and from there, you can order your food. Its a cumulative order so the orders from different devices will all appear in the cart (so don't think it's a bug. We had to reorder twice because someone would accidentally empty the cart thinking its a bug or some sort of accident). It's very convenient, especially for large groups like mine that arrive at different times (just select add order or add to order and an additional order will be generated with a tag that it was generated at a later time).
To make my reservation and to postpone it, I called at around 2 to 3pm. They answered the phone at the first call twice. It was quite convenient to make the reservation AND to call to postpone it.
The food was REALLY nice. Well seasoned and the price is reasonable for the quality and portion of the food. My favourite was the pork belly with garlic and leek (loved the taste and the seasoning) and the gyoza (juicy and well cooked to not be burnt but crispy). My friends all mentioned that the wasabi was really good and tasted very fresh (one friend said it wasn't spicy and proceeded to place the entire thing in his soy sauce and suffered when he ate his sushi with his wasabi soy sauce dip, but it was so delicious that he still ate it). They also mentioned they liked the chicken breast with mentai mayo.
The food arrived in quite a timely manner (we all ordered side dishes first while waiting for others so have to take that into consideration then we ordered main dishes after an hour of waiting for the rest of our friends).
Parking hard to get after 6.30 pm. I managed to snag the last parking right in front of the restaurant but my friends who arrived earlier said there was plenty of...
Read moreBrought my parents here for Father's Day & birthday. Exceeded my expectations with the food, atmosphere and the service!
Most izakaya I've experienced are dimly light and stuffy, so I didn't expect the partially open style which gives great air flow, really nice and cooling.
Every single dish was great, my personal fave was the salmon yukke and the chicken meatball w egg. My dad doesn't typically eat sashimi so for him to enjoy it really does say something. We scarfed down EVERYTHING!
Staff service was also EXCELLENT. From when I called to make reservation, the person who answered took my reservation promptly and professionally. You can also tell their attention to detail in the small things like when we asked them to take pic for us twice - moved all the trash, ugly signs etc off the table and took vertical, horizontal pics for us. Very touched by this. They even gave us a complimentary sashimi cake to celebrate! Complete with gold flakes. 10/10 would dine here again,...
Read moreWas just grabbing a casual late night bite. Extremely chaotic scene when visited, guys in wifebeaters and girls more decently dressed all yelling and making merry. So just be aware that on popular nights it may be impossible to hold a conversation without screaming over people. Servers trying really hard but obviously overwhelmed. No time to really cleanup properly either. Tissues on the floor and a stray yakitori stick in the corner of my bench, I tried to wash away the scene with some sochu, which sadly only came as the last item of my order (cue above: overwhelmed system). Eats were mostly okay (karaage, tamagoyaki, squid sashimi), some misses (ramen very underwhelming), and hits for me were grilled beef tongue yakitori, chawanmushi). Sadly not a repeat for us, prefer my izakaya slightly rowdy but not full-on...
