Very very early days for this place - they're still quite literally building and painting it. So can't judge it yet properly at all - we will return in a few weeks when it should hopefully be properly up and running. It will hopefully manage to get a bigger social media presence etc so more people know about it's existence.

The setting is obviously it's big selling point over looking the lake in the quite large and sadly underused park between Ikea and the busy road. It's a really pleasant aspect to look out on and unique around here I think.

The interior is beautifully done thus far though not completed yet inside or out - what there is I felt was quite reminiscent of the high end decor of common man in TTDI. There is lots of parking though it might be quite easy to miss the entrance despite the sign from the road. If it does well the large exclusive use car park will definitely be a bonus though.

Coffee was good and fairly priced though there's no syrups yet - well certainly not hazelnut - which once this high end place is up and running would I think be unacceptable so hopefully they'll sort that out. There's also no drinks menu or highchairs yet but I'm sure that's in the process of being sorted as it really is super early days for them.

I think the cafe side of it is very much being built (quite literally) and they've concentrated on the restaurant element more for now as perhaps it's potentially more lucrative though also probably less likely to get customers in to check it out initially but not sure. Lots of little things to sort obviously same as any new business.

Food wise it's aiming for a fine dining style and the level of ingredients that go with that which is great - I'm all for that - but because it's expensive for Malaysia it might be somewhere people go to occasionally for a special lunch or dinner.

So hopefully with a properly developed cafe/bakery element I think it would be somewhere people would go more frequently and I can see a lot of westerners and locals being keen to have coffee and cake here on a regular basis. Again very much like common man which is a good blend of high end cafe/restaurant but this place has a better setting (and parking)!

We had the golden egg fried rice which was a decent sized portion and tasted good. I believe the menu says it comes with golden egg floss on top whereas it was served with chopped scrambled egg that's fine but something people will notice and mark down for because customer expectations will be higher here than most places. People may be especially unforgiving If this was on a more expensive menu item.

Dirty fries very tasty but portion slightly too small I think for 18 rm - the meat and cheese are obviously the expensive ingredients but I think more fries included would be fairer for the cost as they're not an expensive ingredient. I understand you will pay a premium for the location etc but this has to be within reason obviously or customers will feel out of pocket which harms repeat custom.

This place has so much potential and the staff we met were lovely and service efficient though it was very quiet currently so you'd expect that. I really hope once this place is properly up and running it will be as good as I think it could be and not try to rely too heavily on its location for customers rather than quality because that would be a real shame and I've seen that happen quite often here. Also perhaps if popular opening earlier than 12 for us coffee fans might be wise.

We look forward to returning soon and being able to judge it properly - it's definitely a very...

This 2-year-old restaurant is strategically placed within Mutiara Damansara, Bandar Utama, Damansara Perdana and Taman Tun Dr. Ismail residences. Located inside the park in Mutiara Damansara – entry is on the left as you exit Mutiara Damansara just before the turning to E11 highway. As it is located inside the park, there is plenty of free parking, mostly shaded from the matured trees that line the parking area. The restaurant itself is relatively large, with both outdoor and indoor seating/dining and holding events like company functions, birthdays, event launch… As you enter through the main door and reception area, you will be guided to the dining area through a shaded walk way. The structure and lay-out is Instagram worthy and exude both a comfy and cozy vibe. Service was relatively fuzz free and prompt and food was served in short order. Since we were there around lunch time, we opted for the set lunch. Unfortunately, for some reason there was no supply of beef for the day, so our intended choice of rendang was not on. We opted for the golden egg fried rice and Park 28 chicken chop. Set lunches came with soup od the day (mushroom) and a drink (rose syrup). The taste of the food, soup and drink was about average, nothing spectacular. All in all, a nice place to chill and with easy parking, not a bad place to...

Our Go-To Spot in PJ – Little Plates Never Disappoints!

This is our third visit to Little Plates in PJ—and honestly, it just keeps getting better. From the very first time we dined here, we were hooked. The food is consistently amazing—beautifully plated, bursting with flavor, and always with something new to try thanks to their ever-evolving menu. You can really tell the team puts heart into what they do.

What makes the experience even more special is the atmosphere. On our last visit, we sat outdoors and enjoyed the gentle evening breeze—it felt almost surreal. It’s one of those rare places where you can truly relax, have great conversations, and just take your time soaking in the moment.

And let’s talk about the service—absolutely top-notch. The staff are attentive, friendly, and you can see the pride they take in making guests feel welcome. Every visit feels like coming back to a familiar place that’s always excited to surprise you with something new.

We now come here almost every other week—it’s become our go-to spot for everything from casual catch-ups with friends to cozy dinners with family. If you’re looking for a place with fantastic food, a chill vibe, and genuinely good people, Little Plates is it.

Can’t wait for...

Located beside the retention pond and next to the IPC, this establishment is in a small building accessible via Persiaran Surian just after IPC and before the exit that connects to the LDP. The building itself is nicely decorated with greens and paths. However some of the seating are too close together. The service staff is friendly and attentive. However the kitchen seems to be slow, as despite the lack of diners at the time, food took a long time to be served. Food itself is good. The kangkung stir fried is flavorful without being too spicy. The adobo chicken is a nice mix of flavor Pinoy-style. The grill fish is also good, but it comes off more as fried than grilled. The stew beef is also good being cooked soft and easy to eat. However the portion of meat in the beef stew is too little. The food is a little on the pricier side if compared to the serving size. Not too bad but not great either.
