visited 2 times just within 1 week. The duck wanton mee is really good! Lean duck meat is very succulent and juicy, paired with the chewy noodles. The soy sauce is not too salty so we could enjoy coating the noodles entirely to enhance the flavour. The single portion of the duck meat is just the same as the duck wanton noodle, so we realised better to have 2 wanton mee for it, coz the duck noodle costs only rm0.7 more than the duck only, but you get the mee. The mala duck soup noodle is not to our liking since it's very soupy with hardly any shredded duck or much to eat except the noodles submerged, unlike the picture on the menu. Worse, we tasted it unnecessarily too oily and not that numbing flavour, which makes us overall feel very expensive for RM17. The fish porridge is kinda let down too due to hardly any fish meat, we didn't taste it but just silky runny rice itself, at least the porridge itself is very tasty surprisingly, the staff has no idea what fish is used to put in the fish porridge even. 🤔 hum I gotta say who wants to pay just for rice for that price? Again if we go there, we would stick to duck wanton mee. The sitting set up is kinda clumsy and too tight between other tables and the hall, we gotta put our groceries on the table. What we couldn't understand is that the plain ice water we ordered just arrived at the end despite us chasing the staff and the counter manager, they kept forgetting and the foreign staff seemed to prioritise serving fancy drinks over just plain water. But when my son kept asking if it's coming or not, I had the counter manager get it ordered to the staff straight away. 🙄 Otherwise, it wouldn't have been made til we finished. Again, certainly some food is good while some is not worthwhile after 2 times we tried out as a dinner choice after having had a durian feast opposite 😅 Those who love duck, pls try it, you...
Read moreJust had a late dinner here around 11.30pm and surprised they were still opened. Got our seats rather fast. It was late and they only had char siew left but they looked extremely appetizing in the display cabinet. Spotted something very interesting as well, a roast duck that’s black in colour. Later on I discovered that it’s the black truffle roast duck. Quite an interesting dish on the menu. Sadly they don’t sell it individually, can only order half or an entire duck. Settled for a good old plate of old school wanton mee. It was a wise decision. The noodles were cooked al dente and tasted great with the black sauce. The char siew was out of this world, succulent and juicy. The charred part added another smoky flavor to the already delicious piece of meat. The lean and fats were evenly distributed. The fatty part just melted in the mouth. The wantons were fat and big, filled with minced meat and prawns. Definitely a generous serving of fillings inside each one of them.
One of the best char siew I had in KL. Recommending this restaurant. They are selling some other dishes which I saw many locals eating as well like their porridge. I’ll be back for more of their...
Read moreThere’s a definite Hong Kong–Kowloon vibe here - familiar flavours that evoke street-side stalls and neon-lit suppers, though the wantan noodles here have a texture more attuned to softer local taste. The BBQ pork (char siu) is easily among the best in town, matched only by the crispy roast pork (siew yoke). One of the biggest draws? It opens late - making it a go-to spot for night owls craving a solid supper.
While many flock here for the claypot congee, we came for the real stars: the BBQ meats.
Even at 9 PM on a weekday, the place is humming. Queues outside are the norm, but preordering speeds things up. Dishes arrive fast, fresh, and piping hot. The service - handled by a sharp, polite Myanmarese crew - is brisk and tidy.
Everything we ordered hit the mark. The roasted duck was juicy and flavourful, though a crispier skin and a side of plum sauce would have made it perfect. A simple plate of blanched kai lan made for a clean, crunchy counterpoint.
Prices lean toward the higher side - but for downtown PJ, that’s par...
