B & Best Restaurant – A Seafood Noodle Haven in PJ

📍 Location: B & Best Restaurant, Petaling Jaya

Visited more than 10 times since 2025

B & Best Restaurant is a local favorite for seafood noodles, serving up fresh fish, prawns, scallops, and even abalone in a comforting bowl of Teochew-style soup or dry noodles. The highlight? Their sambal chili, which takes the flavors to another level.

🌟 Atmosphere: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

The restaurant is bright and well-ventilated with ceiling fans, but with no air conditioning, it can get quite warm, especially during peak hours. The high noise levels from the bustling crowd make conversations a challenge, so be prepared for a lively (and slightly sweaty) dining experience.

🍜 Food: ★★★★★ (5/5)

Food is the star here, with generous portions and fresh seafood at reasonable prices.

🐟 Seafood Noodles (Signature Dish) – ★★★★★ (5/5)

Pick your seafood: Options include Seabass (RM13), Pearl Grouper (RM20), Standard (rm10) , abalone, scallops, and prawns.

Clear, fragrant fish broth: Light yet flavorful, perfect for those who enjoy a natural seafood taste.

Handmade fish balls: Chewy, bouncy, and packed with fresh fish flavors.

Must-Try Sides:

Fried Fish Cake (RM5.50): Crispy on the outside, soft and bouncy inside.

Fried Beancurd Skin (RM4.00): Crunchy, light, and not greasy.

Sambal Chili: A fiery kick that pairs perfectly with the seafood dishes.

⚠️ Some diners find the broth a bit mild on its own, but adding their sambal makes a difference.

👨‍🍳 Service: ★★★★★ (5/5)

Despite the crowd, the restaurant operates efficiently with a queue system. Orders arrive within 5 minutes, and staff are quick to refill soup and handle requests. The owner’s son is known for his friendly service, adding a personal touch to the experience.

💰 Price: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

For the quality and portion size, prices are reasonable:

Basic fish ball noodles: ~RM10 Premium seafood noodles: RM13 – RM25

A satisfying meal for seafood lovers without breaking the bank.

🚗 Parking: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)

Limited parking, so be prepared to walk a bit if you’re visiting during peak hours.

⭐ Final Verdict: Worth Visiting?

Yes! If you’re a fan of fresh seafood and handmade fish balls, B & Best Restaurant is a must-try. The no-frills atmosphere, speedy service, and flavorful dishes make it a great spot for a hearty meal. Just be ready for crowds and warm weather!

📅 Best time to visit? Early mornings or early afternoons for a least crowd experience.

Fresh Seafood .. everyday!

When it comes to seafood noodle, few places come to mind. And recent Michelin Guide has finally landed in Malaysia, the newer Hai Kah Lang in Cheras got the nod. Not sure about the criteria but for me, B&Best should be included as well.

Selling fresh seafood and serving PJ folks for many years, I like coming here because of the fresh seafood - never before had I tasted a foul seafood here. That, and the fact that it was about 10 minutes drive from my place on weekend morning. Most of the time I tried to come earlier to avoid queueing for table.

The sight of fresh seafood - abalone slice, tiger prawns, fish skins, liver, various types of fish meat and others (depending on availability that day) - was enough to make me salivated. When it comes to ordering, your imagination and your thickness of your wallet are the limit.

◾oysters - starting from the size of our 10 cents to 50 cents, the oysters were poached to the right doneness. My default order everytime! ◾Fish liver - also known as the 'sea foie gras', the missus couldn't resist ordering this everytime hence making it another default order. ◾snacks - fried fish cake and beancurd skin with Kg Koh style chilly sauce. A snack to munch on while waiting for the orders to be served. ◾fish ball noodle - an entry level choice for those who prefer something simple. The bowl comes with fish ball and fish slices plus blanched yaw mak. ◾seafood - the sky is the limit when it comes to choice. That, and also the size of your wallet.. take a pick from senangin, red snapper or even loong dan (estuary grouper). For me it would normally me their pearl grouper as the skin had the collagen plus not as expensive as loong dan. ◾Your noodle of choice whether it's soup or dry style. And I always get a bowl of pork lard for that extra flavour.

For me, this is my Michelin Bib Gourmand choice. Oh yes.. you'll also get that fast and efficient service...

Restoran B & Best is a popular spot for Teochew-style fresh fish balls and seafood noodles in Petaling Jaya. The restaurant is located at a corner lot with a spacious sheltered extension, providing an airy and comfortable dining environment. Parking is easy as the area is not crowded with shops.

The restaurant offers a variety of seafood to choose from, such as fish balls, big prawns, fish, scallops, abalone, lala, oysters and more. You can pick your seafood and have it cooked with your preferred noodles, either in soup or dry style. For the standard meal set, the soup is light and clear, while the dry noodles are tossed with a savoury sauce. The regular set noodles come with some seaweed, fish balls and fish cake slices, which are springy and tasty. You can also add on fried fish cake, fu chuk (tofu skin) and pork lard for extra flavour and crunch.

The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the seafood, ranging from RM10 to RM100 per bowl. The service is fast and efficient, even during peak hours. The restaurant also sells freshly made fish balls and fish scales jelly for takeaway, as well as imported fruits from a car booth vendor outside the shop.

We have been regular customers of this restaurant for many years, and we always enjoy our breakfast here. The seafood is fresh and succulent, the noodles are smooth and satisfying, and the sambal chilli is spicy and aromatic. This is one of our favourite places to have Teochew fish ball noodles in PJ. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves seafood...

This particular stall is specialize in making seafood noodle, dry or soup base. Many patrons are quite disappointed because they only open for breakfast and lunch. The seafood noodles stall also serves seafood with porridge and fried fishcakes. They don’t have a fix supplies/seafood menu, depending on their suppliers; in usual day they serve fishball, pomfret, grouper, prawns, fish head, mah yau, giant grouper fish slices and etc with porridge/noodles (yellow noodles, beehoon, kuey teow, etc...) of your choice. First of all, the dry base noodle with fishball, fish cake slices and fu chuk….their noodle is quite tasty actually because they use pork lard fritters. It enhances the taste and it’s delicious…. Fishball is fresh, firm and springy texture. Then the fish head dry noodle, each piece of fish is fresh indeed and quite generous portion. With vegetable and spring onions, the soup is mild flavor and sweet actually, most likely they boil it with lots of fish (or fish bones). The fish is very fresh and that means tender and flavorful meat. They do have excellent fish cake. It’s springy, tender and crispy especially the thin fish cake skin. The fish cake has this bouncy texture too. Yummy, this is one tasty snack while waiting for the fish noodles. Do take note that please ask for price first, something fish is very expensive and could cost you a bomb.
