Hate to put bad reviews but in this case I do hope this branch of Syed tries to change for the better..
Food was not that bad. It was alright. And I believe could be easily improved. Syed bistro being an old player in the block, should easily take pride in it and deliver it's product better considering it's prices.
Service staff seems tired and I am not sure about how motivated are they to give a better service. This could be a simple leadership issue or manpower issues or both. E.g. I was late (around 11 at nite) but staff seems not willing to sell satay anymore, seems the ingredients is still there, but I'm not sure if they are simply not willing to crack it up and cook or just not motivated to do so. So ordered something else.. that something else want that fresh either.
No longer open 24 hours perhaps due to staffing issues.. and sadly should be looked into by mgmt. E.g. No Football screens on a football night seems wasted opportunity.
Atmosphere would improve if everything is out back into place, would love to see this branch do better and make a come back. Would be sad to...
Read moreHad a very very late lunch/early dinner. Had the usual defacto standard which will be nasi + fried chicken + veg + hard boiled egg + fish gravy. The way I see it that these are very common food and if you could make this work, then everything else should be easy for you. The rice was cooked well and fluffy. The chicken was good sized and fried well and juicy. The veg (cabbage + long bean) was as expected with nothing to shout about. The fish curry was thick but lack of the killer taste (fish curry making is a dying art). Hard boiled egg was boiled well but the egg is old (in sense it was stored long as the restaurant usually buys them in bulk), but taste wise it not an issue.
Now its the price for such meal is a bit on the high side for a mediocre standard. It's a good place for maybe 2 person but for a family of 4 or more, it would be a costly affair. I only had a "sky juice" this round and it...
Read moreMembers of public should stop going to these shop then probably the owners might realise their mistake!, but the problem our public does not practice their consumer rights , they don't even care or bothered at all so tour get restaurant owners don't bother about prices and quality food and services at all . I dont go at all unless I have no choice as people still want to patronise there which at times I have no choice to go also . If can stop going to syed bistro ., the owner will never change , and improve the quality food , services and prices as far as I am concerned, so consumer should exercise thier rights by not going or patronising in thier premises...
