I’m really disappointed with my experience at Yuan Lao Si, and it’s all due to the poor service under the new manager (I can’t really recall his name, started with alphabet K and he was pretty upset i asked about his name, I remember he is from Myanmar). The food was great but that’s about where the positives end.
We were told the dining time was 2 hours but no one bothered to inform us about the last call for food. There’s only last call for drinks. We were not given any reminders, and at 10 PM sharp, we were abruptly asked to leave, even though we hadn’t finished our meal or drinks.
I tried to politely provide feedback to the manager, but instead of handling it professionally, he responded with a defensive attitude. He seemed to misunderstand my concern, which wasn’t about the 2-hour limit but about how the lack of a "last call" led to an uncomfortable dining experience. It’s clear he lacks both customer service skills and a proper understanding of English, which made communication even more frustrating. For a restaurant where most customers speak Mandarin, it’s a huge problem to have a manager who can’t properly communicate in both languages.
Yuan Lao Si needs to seriously reevaluate the management. The service is absolutely terrible, and the owner should invest in someone who truly understands both languages and knows how to manage a restaurant with professionalism and respect for customers. Until then, I won’t be coming back, and I can’t recommend this place to anyone. The food may be good, but poor service like this will drive...

I can’t really recall his name but I will provide a photo of himself, started with alphabet K, I know he is from Myanmar and hope the owner can really look into this matter.
We have been inform that we will be charge rm20 per pax due to food wastage and is just about 2 small portion of mushroom. It is not reasonable and He insist want us to pay. Thus, I request talk to manager but he told me the manager went back already but the time is only 920pm
We're supper annoying about his attitude and promise won't come here in future again. I wish to politely provide feedback to the manager, but I am very sad because I couldn't meet the manager.
I would like to highlight This guy did not handling professionally to the customer and at the same time he responded with a defensive attitude. He lacks of customer service skills and a proper understanding of English, which made communication even more frustrating.
Beside that, The food quality is also downgrade compare to last year.
Conclusion, this is a super uncomfortable dining experience and Yuan Lao Si needs to seriously reevaluate the management team if the shop still wants to sustain its business. The service is absolutely terrible, and the owner should look into this matter and recruit quality staff to manage the business operations with professionalism and respect to customers.
Thank you and won't...

I think it was absolutely absurd that this place won’t allow you to book unless you’re a VVIP. They treated us as if we were not paying customers.
When we were told we cannot book, we still went there to queue. After queuing for an hour. They finally let us in, only to see that there were plenty of empty tables.
On my second dining experience here, the soup was way more diluted compared to my first time here. Flavour wise tasted like it was mixed with water to get more soup to serve more people.
Although not many tables, serving was extremely slow. And although some items I ordered was not available, the staff did not inform me until I asked if they can serve it.
Also on the same night, the restaurant was extremely rowdy with a huge group of drunk grown men shouting and screaming at the restaurant. It was extremely unpleasant.
Won’t be coming back here. Experience with caution.
26/9/2020 First experience ( 5 Stars )
Reasonably priced for the portion.
The soup is extremely thick and rich, packed with flavour. Our favourite soup here would be the mushroom soup. Did not try the pork bone, but will suggest everyone to try the mushroom soup if you enjoy the umami flavour of mushroom.
Signature meatball is also a must order for us. But the so called handmade dumpling felt like it was frozen from a packet.
Overall the service staff friendly and attentive, will definitely...
