Chef Wong's Chicken Rice — Restaurant in Sarawak

Never had I been treated so rudely at a restaurant before. The owner of the shop do look into your cashier staff(Malay Lady). The way she treated me is absolutely unacceptable. We as a consumer we pay to get services not pay to get scold. BIADAP BETUL IN OTHER WORDS KURANG AJAR. I seldom complaint but this time sorry. Learn how to treat your customer with respect first that’s the basic manners you should have.

The taste of the food is just so so.Nothing special you can find better chicken rice elsewhere in Miri. The portion? MEH….. small🥲, Price yes consider average not expensive.

Do also check the hygiene of your shop. The box which stores utensils are full of water and oily vapours and I even come across utensils with food residue still attached to it 🤮🤢.

This is my first time here and also my last. Totally will not recommend to my friends and family. Stay Away unless you like to get treated rudely....

The chicken rice itself is pretty good. Chicken is cooked perfectly, moist still and great texture. Peak hours there is a queue and there is a numbering system so you know when you are going in. So all that is pretty good. But I came to take-away. They took the order, they gave me a receipt. But I have no numbering system. I have no idea if I have to wait for 1 order or 200 orders. On top of that I’m also sitting outside just waiting but I don’t know what I’m waiting for. I asked how I know if my order is coming up. They say they will come out and find me? I think this system needs a bit of thinking. Give us a wait order number as well so we don’t have to wait for who knows when. Otherwise good food but some kinks to work out. The take away is funny when you see it. A nice server comes out with a bunch of bags and everyone flocks to see if it’s theirs. Then it’s not you go back to musical chairs...

I visited here for the first time, drawn by the big crowd for lunch. Surprised to find the chicken rice is very good. Soup is provided on self-service. Although it is not airconditioned, the shop is surprisingly cool, maybe due to high ceiling and through ventilation, being a corner shop. For those bothered by smokers, none during my visit, The ministry of health will impose no smoking at all food outlets, whether airconditioned or not as from 2019. Any smoking within 5 meters from food outlets is an offence. Unfortunately the Minister of local gov..... Of Sarawak Professor Sim is not happy , simply GPS state gov. has not been consulted. This is political comment, wonder if GPS parliamentarian has ever said anything in parliament. Being a heart specialist, she should know that is good for public's health .
