Muffin is fresh, light and fluffy. All the ingredients were hot so the cheese melts and sticks to the bread for oozy bites! At RM5, I'll have this over McMuf*s any time.
Bagel was similarly fresh - crispy on the outside and soft inside. Considerably less dense than others I've had overseas but still good. Excellent value for money - RM18 for a layer of smoked salmon & cream cheese plus a good helping of salad and scrambled eggs on the side. The eggs were a little too salty for my tastes, but they had textbook "scrambled" texture which is actually hard to achieve.
Scone was a bit small (each serving is 1 scone). It came with jam and cream cheese while we're more used to jam and fresh cream which helps to balance the heaviness of scones.
Meatball noodles were ok, but there's a heavy hand with seasoning.
Choc milkshake was more like iceblended milo, but kid was happy with it so no complains.
Restaurant tries to be family friendly with high chairs and kiddy utensils available for use, but space is cramped and seating is on stools so there are still challenges with bags and umbrellas and older kids who need to kneel on chairs.
The wait was ok (we arrived around 10 and it wasn't too busy), but the second order we made after the first items started arriving took till we finished everything before it showed up.
All in, an excellent breakfast where east and west met and had a ball of a time! The breads transported us to a posh cafe, but the ambience and "damage" to the wallet were firmly in the arena of the coffee shop...
Read moreA shop which has been here for years. It was first recommended to be when I came to Kuching 8 years ago. Over the years yhe standard has dropped considerably. And remained pricy for the quality of food and service being provided.
So far I can only recommend their scone. But recently their scones seem to be always unavailable and I am not sure of the reason.
The types of bread available vary daily. Ciabatta was alright but not the best. The fillings were standard and looked instant and cheap for the price of a deluxe sandwich at 18 ringgit. The gyoza had a crispy touch but the porkie smell was abit too strong.
I had tried their noodles previously and it was not bad but at rm9 it was considerably more expensive with the little amount of topping.
Service so so. Lady boss at the counter is never friendly or rather, rarely smiles.
Overall, will not recommend to try if you want to try really nice bread / sandwiches. People come here because it has been here long time and it’s near office building with a variety of menu from noodles to bread.
If the scone returns that might be the only thing I would recommend. Also, this place...
Read moreI wasn't a fan of the soup noodles here; the soup tasted overly starchy. However, I've heard that most people come for their bread, and my friend mentioned that their kaya butter is decent. My rating is solely based on the soup noodles. I also had an unpleasant experience with the staff; I was holding a pencil and asked where to put it, but she didn't respond until she had entered my order and then instructed me to put it on the table. It was confusing because they only gave us the pencil after we arrived. Additionally, they only accept cash payments; no e-wallets or cards are accepted. Would not return (not a bread/...
