Perched atop the 6th floor of the UTC Building in Kuching, Topspot Food Court might look modest at first glance. But come dinnertime, this rooftop gem transforms into a bustling hive of activity—locals and tourists alike flock here for its wide array of seafood delights and open-air charm.
We arrived during peak dinner hours, and though the place was packed, a warm welcome awaited us. A friendly lady staff member swiftly found us a table, setting the tone for a vibrant and enjoyable evening.
🦐 What We Ordered
Steamed Pomfret
Fish Maw with Seafood Soup
Salted Butter Prawns
Oyster Pancake
Midin & unknown Vegetables
⭐ Food Ratings & Highlights
Steamed Pomfret (2.5/5) Sadly, this dish was the weakest link. The fish wasn’t as fresh as we had hoped, and the flavor fell flat.
Fish Maw with Seafood Soup (2.5/5) Another disappointment. The soup lacked depth, and the ingredients didn’t stand out.
Salted Butter Prawns (4/5) A rich and savory delight! The buttery coating was aromatic and full of flavor. A definite crowd-pleaser.
Midin & unknown Vegetables (5/5) These were unexpected highlights. The midin—a local wild fern—was cooked just right: crisp, earthy, and delicious. The other vegetable was refreshing.
Oyster Pancake (4.5/5) The star of the evening! Crispy edges, generous oysters, and a satisfying chewiness. A rare find that we don’t often get in Singapore.
💬 Final Thoughts If you're in Kuching and craving local seafood in a lively setting, Topspot Food Court is worth a visit. With dozens of stalls offering an impressive variety, you’re bound to find dishes you’ll love. While not everything we ordered was a hit, the standout plates more than made up for the misses.
💰 Bill Total: RM268.20 (for 4 pax) – A reasonable price for the quantity and variety.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ (3.8/5) A bustling rooftop food court with hit-or-miss dishes—but the hits are absolutely...
Read moreLing Long Seafood No. 33 at Top Spot Kuching is my all time favourite spot whenever I’m in Kuching.
I’ve tried several stalls here, but honestly my taste always brings me back to Ling Long Seafood No. 33.
The dishes are perfectly seasoned and suit my taste buds every single time. Totally satisfying! Best part, they’re certified Halal by JAKIM, so you can enjoy your meal here with peace of mind. Prices are very reasonable too.
Highly recommended dishes:
Siakap Steam Kari Asam – Seriously, a must try !!! I’ve had it at other stalls but nowhere does it as perfectly as here.
Cangkuk Manis Goreng with Egg – A hidden gem.. They don’t display this at the front, only regulars know about it. Definitely a must order.
Other dishes I ordered and loved: Jenahak Goreng Sweet Mango Nestum Fried Prawns Mussels Thai Style Sotong Masak Cili Kering – Cooked with dried chili and thick soy sauce, really flavour packed and absolutely delicious. Mixed Vegetables – I usually go for black fungus, kangkung, tofu, and fucuk, stir fried with garlic is so simple but super tasty..!!!
We had a group of 7 people, and all these dishes were more than enough. The mixed vegetables were so good we even ordered a second round and not a single bite left on the table..!!!
Total bill came to RM303. What do you think ? Expensive or worth it for the quality and portions? Personally, I’d say it’s absolutely worth it.
Overall, Ling Long Seafood No. 33 never disappointed and highly...
Read moreI was introduced to here by local 20 years ago. Then I like the food. Today I brought my family since we need to come to Kuching. Open in the evening until 10 pm. I park my car inside UTC parking and walk up the 6th floor since this seafood food court is at the roof top. There are 2 lifts but you may need to wait long since everyone keeps coming. Randomly selected this stall. Do be aware you can only sit in the area where you intend to order from the same stall. It is a big no no if you sit somewhere and order from next door. The soup was very salty. Then came the squid. Feel not fully cooked and difficult to bite before swallowing. Next the vegetables. This dish is ok. The prawn although big and juicy but very bland. Even after we inform the captain and re BBQ still lacking in flavour. Maybe another way of cooking is better suited. The grilled stingray was better but on the wetter side. Guess during cooking when covered the water from the steam dropped back into the fish. Overall the food did not meet our expectations. The price of RM 159 is reasonable but even if I come back I will go to another stall. XL sugar cane is ok and the right level of sugar. RM15 for 2. Also order a traditional food - chicken cooked inside bamboo. So so. Overall the ingredient is ok but the cooking did not bring out the flavour of the freshness. Service was ok and the place was cooling even though only with fans and open air in the centre. Feels maybe local like their food on...
