I ordered for the first time at Mykori via Foodpanda and dined in, and I have to say that their food is definitely delicious. I really loved the Kenko rice which I believe is a temporary menu for this month (June 2025). What I liked about it is that we can choose our protein and vegetables. I chose boneless chicken as my protein, and red onions (which I don't recommend), lettuce and kimchi for my vegetables. I hope this menu will continue to stay since I like choosing healthier options for meals.
I also tried dining in with my aunt to try out their kakigori dessert but I believe this isn't the genuine Japanese kakigori. Based on what I tasted, the texture of the shaved ice is fine and creamy (likely milk-based), and it’s topped with Lotus Biscoff crumbs, whipped cream, and a biscuit stick. The small cup on the side has caramel or condensed milk to pour over.
The rich toppings and milkier ice are what make it closer to Korean bingsu than Japanese kakigori. But I can't say it's a genuine bingsu either, maybe a mix of sort.
Bingsu is usually served in larger portions with more elaborate toppings (like red bean, fruit, mochi, etc.), but this still fits the bingsu category because of the milk-based finely shaved ice and dessert-style presentation.
It might just be a mini or simplified version, possibly styled to look like kakigori. Some cafes blend both styles or downsize for individual servings. It’s bingsu-like, but not full-on...
Read moreThe cashier that serve us is very helpful. She assists us with all the menu. We ordered Thai Tea kakigori - got boba in it. Kinda sweet and I think kids must love this 2.Houjicha kakigori- bitter sweet taste. Very delicious for me n my mom but not for my 14 year old sister. Oh ya, inside it got some jelly 3.Matcha latte kakigori- when I eat this in shah alam, they only got red beans inside. But I guess miri mykori matcha latte kakigori has not just red beans but also jelly in it. You can really taste the matcha flavour n it is not too sweet 4.mango cheesecake kakigori- a little bit sour because of the mango. If u get lucky, u get sweet mnago and the taste will be perfect. (Mangoes aren't always perfect like human, they can tastele sour sometimes sooo hmm) 5.chocolate banoffee kakigori-got brownies, caramel n banana if I'm not mistaken in it.. it's good but too sweet for me. Read moreWent to Mykori to try out the new "bingsu" on Gawai eve. It was the first in Sarawak & nvr try it before during my uni time in KL.
My friend and I ordered Matcha bingsu and chocolate toast. The Matcha was a bomb! Didnt expect to have such rich matcha taste. The black jelly hid within the ice was definitely another layer of surprise. Altho it was flavoured ice, but the sweetness was just nice. The serving size seemed to be one-person, but the real portion was enough for two. Perfect size if you wana order different flavours at a time.
Moreover, the chocolate toast was tasty too. Especially the chocolate sauce, there was a little bit of smokey, dark chocolatey taste to it. Great taste and not too sweet too.
It was a new shop so i guess all the staff were very new too. But everyone was so friendly. Good to bring your family there and kids get free balloons :)
Definitely would like to try more flavours when i go bck to Miri again and hope that they have onde-onde...
