This “high-end” restaurant has been around for a decade or two & has always been recommended by family & friends ever since they existed in town.

I have not tried their restaurant but been having their cakes for birthdays in the past which is nice but getting more expensive by the day.

Last month I finally made my way and visited them for the first time & I couldn’t understand the hype. Aft my visit my verdict is that it’s just a regular western (or fusion) restaurant that’s highly priced. The food taste are alright, but was very disappointed with the Caesar salad with no croutons or visible Parmesan (maybe they’re all blended in the dressing though I didn’t taste it), small size at Rm30.

The average price for our dinner was rm68+ each (4 mains, 1 salad, 1 drink, 1 cake slice). So be ready to pay a higher price for a regular western plate which can be found at other restaurants in town at a more reasonable rate. Point is: It’s ok to pay more if the food warrants the quality, which isn’t...

Very disappointed when my daughters and I had our dinner at Tom’s. Upon arriving, I was truly shocked at the prices of the cakes on display which are much higher compared to premium places in KL such as Bacha, Kenny Hills or Paul (average of about RM30 per slice, excluding 6% SST 😳). As for the food, it wasn’t even fine dining standard but each dish was pricier than elsewhere in Kuching!

Personally, I would prefer to dine at Hilton or Sheraton Kuching - after all, they are similarly priced but you get to have premium quality food in a beautiful ambiance. Tom’s decor on the other hand looks like “Rojak” with some Spanish, some Balinese and some random Chinese decor mix-and-match here and there. Overall I am really not satisfied with my dining experience here, thank you.

It's my first dining experience.Overall it's rather unpleasant.

Price: On pricey side. We ordered Boneless Chicken Chop, Chocolate Indulgence Cake, and a teapot. The chicken chop was pretty average with a good side dish portion. The most letdown was the cake. I was expecting much more premium taste for the price they had. Secret Recipe is wayyyy better.

Service: Foods were served late even though there was only a few people in it, just to know later on that there were VIPs across our table. We came much earlier than them but they were served first. I would appreciate it if the waitress informed us the waiting time took longer that night due to VIPs.

We had to ask a few times for our food and it was served almost cold when it arrived. A very much...

Let me give you the lowdown on this fancy place I tried out which my mom highly recommended. Overall, it's got a pretty nice atmosphere, Classy vibes and all that. We had pasta, fish and chips and cheesecake. But when it comes to the pasta, well, let's just say it didn't exactly knock my socks off. It was a bit on the bland side. And considering what they’re charging, I was expecting some flavor explosion in my mouth, but it was more like a gentle whisper. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm all for treating yourself every now and then, but if I'm shelling out that much dough, I expect to be wowed. So yeah, they could definitely step up their game in the flavor department.
