I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restoran Nasi Lemak Cinta Sayang, a Malaysian eatery tucked away in the heart of the city. Known for its authentic Malaysian cuisine, I couldn't resist trying their signature dish, Nasi Lemak, which is often considered the national dish of Malaysia. I must say, my experience left me with a warm and satisfied feeling that only the perfect plate of Nasi Lemak can provide!
Restoran Nasi Lemak Cinta Sayang exudes a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. While the ambiance lacks the sophistication of some high-end establishments, it makes up for it with its warm and friendly staff, who were more than willing to guide me through the menu.
Now, let's get to the star of the show – the Nasi Lemak. Restoran Nasi Lemak Cinta Sayang's take on this beloved dish is nothing short of exceptional. Here's a breakdown of the components:
Rice: The rice, cooked in creamy coconut milk, was fragrant and perfectly textured. It was not too sticky or dry, a common pitfall in Nasi Lemak preparation.
Sambal: The sambal, the spicy chili paste, had just the right amount of heat. It was flavorful, balanced, and complemented the other elements of the dish beautifully.
Anchovies and Peanuts: The crispy, salty anchovies and crunchy peanuts added a delightful contrast in texture to the dish. They were a perfect match for the creamy rice and spicy sambal.
Boiled Egg: The soft-boiled egg, with its runny yolk, was cooked to perfection and added a lovely creaminess to each bite.
Cucumber Slices: The cucumber slices provided a refreshing contrast to the rich flavors of the dish, offering a palate cleanser between bites.
The portion size was generous, making it a great value for the price. Every bite was a symphony of flavors and textures, a harmonious blend of sweet, spicy, and...

You can add side dishes as you like and it will be calculated at the cashier. Now I read back reviews and saw there were roti bakar, noodles, cucur udang but no idea about it when I was there because there was no menu available. So I got the nasi lemak with half hard boiled egg RM4.50, add sotong which they charged RM6.50, begedil RM2.50 and the cham ice RM2.90. Everything total at RM16.40. After I left I thought of the RM4.50 for the NL telur rebus, do I get only half or should it be the whole telur rebus for that price? 🤔. Anyway the rice was flavorful with santan. Sotong was too soft, I believe they soaked it too long. The sambal for the rice was slightly spicy and salty too. Cham was just alright. The environment is quite comfortable, alot of seating but it can be a bit stuffy inside so I...
Read moreOrdered nasi lemak ayam with paru. Member ordered nasi lemak sotong with sambal udang. Price wise it’s ok for KV area. The nasi lemak ayam with paru with kopi ais was RM19.90.
Overall food was decent. Sambal was on the sweet and spicy side. Portions were generous and the fried chicken was fresh, juicy and is the berempah type. Paru also crispy. The prawns and sotong (keping type) were fresh and nice, tak kenyal type.
Only complaint I had was the place was very hot and stuffy even though there are fans. Order system also not so systematic. We order and pay our food and drinks at the counter and waiter will come with the drinks and asked what we ordered. I expect it’ll be messy if during peak hours.
Overall, we enjoyed our meals. Will...
