Sushi Zanmai Central i-City — Restaurant in Shah Alam

Food is overall good although there are times where we feel the sashimi could be more fresh. My biggest disappointment with SZ is when it comes to paying. No option for bank QR pay, only TnG, Grabpay, credit/debit card n cash. Most people won’t keep big amount in their TnG n Grabpay as its often use for small transactions, tol n parking. Dining at Sushi Zanmai will often cost up to 3 figure (when eating with family) so clearly these ewallets are troublesome because patrons will need to reload before paying versus a Bank QR pay which is more direct & convenient. Also there have been times when I pay with TnG but was told to do again because it didnt go through

Last week, we saw a Chinese national patron having issue with his Alipay that we ended up helping to pay for his meal as the restaurant was closing. Today, 17 Jan 2024 , I paid with debit card, payment went thru from my Maybank app but the cashier said it didnt go thru & I need to check with the bank. Luckily all were sorted out by end of day (when the sales closing done) but this all could be avoided if a simple QR Pay from your bank available & on display. I don’t understand how this is the most difficult thing have when a QRpay can be done easily even by road side hawker stalls?

Seriously, please look into your payment terminal, internet speed & for goodness sake put QRPay as a payment option. If makcik nasi lemak could get a QRPay I dont see why a big corporation like SZ can’t get...

I had dinner last night (14 December 2019) with my family. It was very busy but our orders arrived without a hitch. However our drinks were late and only arrived when we were all done with our food and after we reminded them about it.

The manager apologized and even gave us the drinks free of charge (it was just normal green tea, nothing expensive), and on top of that he also gave us a free dessert to share as an apology.

I'm sorry I didn't get your name mister manager, but thank you for great customer service and making us feel appreciated. In all the Sushi Zanmai outlets I've been to I've never met a staff who was sincere and went the extra mile for a customer. This quality has become increasingly rare nowadays. Please keep up the great work and know you made a difference in someone's life last...

Perhaps one of the more affordable, best tasting sushi outlets in Malaysia. I particularly love their Spider Roll Sushi - sushi with soft shell crab. It has the best combination of ingredients, the crab is fried and crunchy, little roe on top and sauce that complements the rest of the ingredients. Another fave is Chawanmushi but the few recent times I visitef this outlet, it was always not available which is unfortunate. If you want something more filling, you can opt for the Donburi selection. Most of them taste good, but my personal fave is the Chicken Katsudon. The staff was prompt and attentive and this outlet has ample space and a lot of tables to cater to many patrons comfortably....
