Many friends recommended this place so I decided to check it out. Seating is quite limited but we managed to get a table immediately upon entering, we got the last table (arrived at around 6:10) and they don't accept reservations. While eating you could see a lot of people queuing outside for a table. The waiters and waitresses were really nice and polite but the food took quite a while, I think they're training new staff or understaffed so I understand.

  1. Grilled Sweet Potato - sweet potato was actually sweet and really buttery but not too over I really enjoyed this.
  2. Garlic Bread - just normal garlic bread nothing to shout about
  3. Pork Chops - nicely seasoned, flavourful and a good portion
  4. Lamb Chops - a little chewy but it was still pretty good
  5. Pecan Walnut Parmesan Crusted Salmon - this was so so I felt the crust didn't do much, it was just like any other slab of salmon.
  6. Curly Fries - what do I have to say it's curly fries, it's fried really well and obviously superior compared to regular fries.
  7. Grilled Vegetables - I loved the grilled vegetables, you could taste the char on the veggies and it was really very seasoned, my favourite was the eggplant.
  8. Cajun Buttered Corn - just regular degular corn with butter and some cajun seasoning
  9. Ceaser salad - I think the dressing is from a bottle, they tossed the salad really well, every piece of lettuce is coated with the sauce.
  10. Tuna Salad - I really enjoyed the balsamic sauce for this salad it's definitely lighter compared to the ceaser salad and I actually prefer this over the ceaser salad.
  11. The Ink-credible pasta - squid ink pasta with fried soft shell crab and ikura. This was phenomenal totally not what I expected. There was so much umami, it was creamy at the same time but not jelak at all and there was no fishy taste. I honestly felt it would have been better without the soft shell crab as it wasn't doing much the flavours very all already there. I felt the soft shell crab was just there as a celebrity guest to jack up the price.
  12. Sparkling iced peach tea - not much sparkling and not enough sweet but it was fine sipping throughout my meal and I felt the part where they don't make it overly sweet was intentional as I was eating such heavy food already it really balanced it out. Overall I can confidently say this is one of the best fusion/western food in Kota Kemuning area. I will definitely be back, I'll give it a...

Note: Non-halal.

Once in a while, I would unearth a hidden gem. This was one of the times when I found an awesome western restaurant that serves superbly grilled meats - in Kota Kemuning of all places 🥲😅 . It took me about 45 minutes just to reach this township.

The Charcoal Grill is located quite near to Nota & Abanico, the other two good F&B establishments that I raved about. Unfortunately they didn't take reservation so I had to reach there early - 6pm to be exact because they opened for dinner at that time. Sure enough, the whole restaurant was packed in less than 30 minutes and those who came later either being put into waiting list, or turned away if they couldn't wait.

◾Signature Marinated Pork Chop RM36 - Epig stuff! Love the smokiness & doneness of the meat, which was marinated nicely. Each main is entitled to choose 2 sides and I opted for grilled vegetables and balsamic tuna salad. ◾Signature Marinated NZ Lamb Chop RM45 - while the mint sauce was good, the baked potato with sour cream evoked memory of Victoria Station. I preferred my pork chop. ◾Fajitas with Charcoal Grilled Pork RM74 - aromatic grilled pork in fajitas seasoning with sides of grilled vegetable (capsicum, onion & mushroom), 6 pieces of flour tortillas, guacamole, tomato salsa, grated sharp cheddar, lime wedges and a big dollop of sour cream. Options to change to beef at RM8 extra! I stole a few pieces of the meat to try and gotta say that I was wowed. ◾A Legit Coney Dog RM25 - rich Coney Island inspired meat sauce slathered on pork sausage, and served with a side of fries. A good choice for the young ones.

This place is not high end or grand restaurant that needs to dress to the nines. Families, couples and friends walked in casually in their shorts and T-shirts to eat. But the quality of their food was on point, I'd say one of the...
