No star given. I grew up in Subang Jaya and have been patronising this restaurant with my family and friends. But of late, the owner of this restaurant have been so calculative. There were four of us and when the bill came, we were charged RM11 extra for "asking to tambah". I argued that we didn't even ask to add but because when the staff scoop the pumpkin for example, it was a mere two small pieces equivalent to 3 twenty cents, surely I'll ask to put down more. As customers, we were asking to be served adequately. We don't take advantage of you, neither should you take advantage of us. For the owner to say we asked for 11 times, that is blatant ridiculous.
I brought two person who had their first banana leaf in their life. I don't recall them asking to tambah for themselves. How did the 11 times came about. We sides dishes as well, sotong, mango lassi etc.
She started telling me the vegetable prices has gone up at the market etc. No one cares about your vegetable prices alright, that is why you also increased your food prices.
While I was waiting to pay, I witness they admit people without vaccination proof. When I asked the restaurant, they said they will not deny entry to customer that wishes to come in. My goodness. It was not the case ... I know that it was simply a senior citizen lady that they kawan kawan let them in. It's so obvious.
While I was disputing the bill on the 11 times she claimed we asked to tambah... I mention that such an entry is so irresponsible of them. She stood her ground and other customers were watching. Infact, when she was serving, others asked her to "tambah" and she did, and I wonder if she charged them too.
It's so silly to count with us when we weren't asking to add but to put a reasonable amount. And 11 times is a lie.
To the restaurant owner(s), you can take that RM11 and even 10 times more, but you have certainly lost a customer whom was there since your beginnings.
This is a classic case of being pound foolish, penny wise.
As a resident of Subang Jaya,...
Read moreMy colleagues and I decided to go here for our lunch. When we reached, we were denied from going to one of the many available tables there by the Indian female manager. Instead we had to be in a line with other hungry patrons to wait for our turn to tell our orders to the lady boss then and there. Were a group of 7 and we were forced to decide hastily, then and there on what to order. So, we just told her whatever that came to mind. Only when that was done, we were allowed to enter the restaurant. We ordered medium size for all the dishes so we thought it would be sufficient but it wasn't. It looked like it was for a single portion especially the fried squid. We ordered lamb with some gravy dish (it was ok), fried squid, chicken varuval (meh) and Chicken 53 or 56 (better) as well as rasam( best). As we looked around, we noticed the many signs like "RM1 chargeable for extra vegetables" which is the first time I've seen in any banana leaf restaurants. I was at awe. Secondly, we saw a sign that no outside food was allowed but please don't stare and make a face when a customer ordered everything else but rice cos she brought porridge. Thqts all. She paid for the veges and meat etc. What's the problem right? Later on, we realise that this lady boss was ruthless, she really refused entry for anyone even tho there is a long line outside and many tables to be filled. She actually told one customer that just sat down and was ready to order from the staff, to get up and get outside thebm restaurant and tell her what he wants to order. I'm like, seriously? Your staff was already there to order. Well, I guess she really loves the power huh? Lol. Anyways, I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here cos of her and that we paid over rm150 for the lil amount of food we ordered and the below average taste. Watch out for that lady boss you...
Read moreTerrible customer service and absolutely atrocious attitude. I must tell you this tale of an individual so entitled and ridiculous that she was willing to lose 7 customers for the sake of an empty restaurant.
My family and I wanted to have lunch. We chose Nirvana. There were 7 of us in 2 cars. The first car came first, with the second (car) about ten minutes behind.
We alighted and came to the 'front check-in counter', a little red-tape barricade being manned by a mousy little man and a lady. The man was a staff member and the lady seemed to be the lead.
We said we wanted a table for 7. This ridiculous lady first told us to wait outside the restaurant and that we could not be seated until we had ordered at their front 'desk'.
She then told us that despite ordering for 7, she could only seat 5 of us. When queried as to why we would order 7 meals and only need 5 seats, she literally said 'no you can never tell more people can come'. This, to a restaurant that was half empty.
This disgusting practice was accentuated by the obvious arrogance of the lady at the front desk. The 'inability' to spell one's name, the overbearing attitude and the 'I'm better than you' insouciance was absolutely off-putting.
I would never recommend this restaurant. Your service is atrocious. We headed over to Moorthy Marthai's for lunch which was an absolute gem, in comparison to this place.
Nirvana, you fall far beneath the standards expected of Indian service and what one reasonably expects of...
