Citron by Lemongrass — Restaurant in Malé

I went there last week with my best pal to celebrate my promotion. Table wasn’t well cleaned when we seated. No one approached to us when we seated so we had to raise the hand and wait for one of the service staff to notice us. It seemed like there was two functions going on. So we couldn’t get a table on upstairs. So wasn’t really left with any choice but to sit outside on the ground floor near ocean. Their was a buffet going on too. But we decided to stick with alacart menu. While presenting the menu, waiter didn’t mention anything about the not available items. But by the time we made up our minds on what we are having and gave the order he started saying those items are not available. A lot of items on menu is not available. Finally we ordered a thai noodle and lobster termidor. And again service was very slow it took em more than one hour to serve the food. Quality of food and beverage was more than I expected but service wise it was a disaster. Asked for wifi password like four or five times 2 waiters came with different password. It got connected but there was no service and few minutes later it got automatically disconnected. I went to have lunch in this restaurant, not a first time. While giving order I received a call that I need to take a package urgently near post. It takes 5-10 min I asked waiter to prepare food and that I’ll come back in 10 min. He called manager and that Sri Lankan manager wasn’t polite and told me I can order later or pay now. Than he started talking, instead of apologizing and telling nicely I would accept but the way he communicated I disagreed and refused to stay there or to come back. That person does not know how to manage situation in a good manner, low level of management. They do not care, it is place has cheap managers and attitude and no communication skills. Will not come back there. I have taken the Lunch from Sea House restaurant just near the same location. Good sea view restaurent built including the coastal sea wall as a part of the retaurent boundary. While you sit in the outdoor area you get to sea the face of the velanaa international Airport island just a mile away. Also you can see a lot of vessels passing by the channel. A place where you can get different types of buffet's ,Alacartè menues and also an outdoor area where u can have coffee's. The staffs are busy here but they serve nicely . The tables are closely packed in the outdoor area but you can understand why it is so while looking at the crowd. Especially in lunch time, in the afternoon and evening until 0000hrs midnight.
