Bread Matters Urban — Restaurant in Malé

starting with the appetizers, they had random items on it. tasted way too salty. the shooter (mint?) they gave redeemed itself, but the mint leaf in it needed more attention. the watermelon juice had no sugar. the second course had low quality roshi, and the mashuni tasted bad too. the chicken and the folhi was good, but the omelet was bad again. they may have thought the amount of food they gave for the first two courses was enough, so the main course (seafood rice) was a pitiful portion. I asked for a spicy portion and they gave me: 10 chili flakes sprinkled on top. the seafood part of the name mainly refers to fish, with only 2 shrimps and 4-5 squid pieces in it. finally, for dessert, they gave blueberry cheesecake roughly the size of a sausage, and the biscuit was soggy. the blueberry tasted awful too. the last redeeming point was the vanilla ice-cream, which tasted really good, but was offset by the fact they gave us forks to eat dessert with. -- UPDATE: (29-09-2024) Most of the items are not available. To serve water it took more than 10mins (there'e two tables with customers) Doesn't taste good. Staffs are not rude, but definitely not so friendly. Not recommended 🚫

Friendly staffs, nice and relaxing place. Orange Basil Mojito is 😍 (really good).

I was gonna try Fish & chips, but the item is 86. So, I asked for their special beef burger. Same, they don't have it either. Then they recommend me to try Chicken Burger. So I ordered it. The bun is cold, fried chicken is cold, fries also cold. Coleslaw is the worst. No dressing at all. I ate the whole dish, coz I'm starving. Note: They will charge for cheese. Price: 💲💲

I asked for latte to go an was offered a micro cup for 60 MRV. For a city where you can regularly get great Chai - tea with milk of the same size for 10 MRV, 60 for that size is crazy. You can’t even get much milk in after espresso which makes it a latte - otherwise it’s just coffee with milk. Then I asked if I stay in - they did show a larger but yet glass cup. That might be ok if you want whip cream. When I asked if they could use porcelain cups they had sitting right next to it - they said NO - that was for double capuchino only. Why? It just seems completely unreasonable. So basically no way to get a nicely foamed latte. And then final insult - calling a place bread matters and only have a micro baguette sandwich - but no bread otherwise...
