We love Korean bbq, but sadly this was a disappointment.
The pork belly was too thick. Should have been cutted in thin slices. The leaves were so small. It was not possible to put meat, sauce and other things on it. Moreover the leaves looked not fresh and had dark spots. We missed herbs and other typical side dishes we had in other Korean bbq, like soy bean, herbs, garlic, lotus and so on.. We received a soup with tofu immediately at the beginning for we received the grill. Then she took it away. I was not sure why, maybe because it was cold. Later when the grill was there, she brought another soup. It was not the same soup she brought before.
We sat in an adjoining room and it was very hot. She turned the fan on, but it was not helping to cool down the room. I asked politely to turn on the a/c. It took more than 30min until someone came to turn it on… We were already eating at this time and the heat was very uncomfortable. In addition, the bbq promoted the heat..
I asked for extra sauce and I waited st least 20min. We finished our meal without the small portion of extra sauce..
The service was kind, but I overloaded. Nevertheless, I didn’t feel comfortable as a customer and wouldn’t come again.
It was our worst experience...
Read moreI’ve ordered takeaway and dined in several occasions.
Atmosphere: the restaurant at the back is smelly as the toilet is there. Poor ventilation. Overall very tiny layout. However, it felt like authentic Korean little restaurant in south Korea.
Food: I have eaten here way too many times from them, I have enjoyed them. My concern is that, Koreans are known for kimchi so customers having to pay extra for kimchi felt wrong. This should be considered in their pricing along with banchan. The banchan (side dishes) were poor, it really could be better. The kimchi stew was weak but I think this is to suit the local’s palette so i can accept that. Kimchi pancake was poor. Overall, the food is okay especially the gimbap is really tasty. There is no way anyone can ruin gimbap anyway! Some of the traditional Korean dishes are a hit and miss. The restaurant would benefit from doing it properly as how Korean restaurants would usually do because I know south Koreans take so much pride in serving their food to people.
Value: it is already expensive for what they serve but I don’t mind paying if it is better than what I can cook at home.
Overall, it is a...
Read moreI’ve been eating in this place many times over the past years and it is a pity to see the quality keep going lower:
Very frequent change of waitress and most of the new people are not really good with service or even care to give good service.
This place is supposed to be somehow authentic, but unfortunately they don’t care anymore. Currently they use exactly same kind of noodle for a Japanese “Nagasaki udon “ and Korean “jjang bon “ - both use the thin yellow noodle, which is not udon at all. It’s is basically treating customer like they know nothing and care nothing. When I tell the waitress they used wrong noodle , they said:” we use thin noodle as udon for many years, I’m sorry but this is the one we serve.” And refuse to do anything, standing there, silent, with a “suck it”face.
Lunch menu is portion size is so small that it’s merely an appetizer .
All in all, used to like this place, but it is loosing its soul and becoming an very average place that doesn’t care the service...
