We were unfortunately dragged into the restaurant exactly as the reviews say when we wanted to have time to see a menu or look at the google reviews as I do every time but this owner very dirty as mentioned by many, did not leave us the choice. Once installed, we ask if there are homemade pancakes or waffles, there are none, okay. They are "homemade" cakes instead, so we each asked for an almond cake homemade. First thing we notice, the owner is not educated and talks badly to his employees. 15 minutes, then arrive the plates, with lots of slices of cakes and ice cream. Weird because we had asked for an almond cake. Inside are the 3 other cakes that we did not ask for because we do not like the dates, but in short, we taste. This was actually a disaster, the cakes WERE INFAMOUS. The stone-hard almond cake, impossible to eat in addition to its artificial and disgusting taste, and the other cakes with the horrible smell, that of heated dates. You don't have to be a genius to know that these cakes are outdated and certainly not homemade. We stop there before getting sick, especially seeing the hygiene of the owner. Going out of the restaurant, the owner comes towards us in a rude way, shouting at us limit why we have not eaten their dishes. Undaunted, we told him his 4 truths clearly, and you know what comes out yelling in his incredible arguments: "the cakes are well bought every morning". Ah, but you weren't the one who told us 3 times that they were homemade? Ahaha, thank you. Result, we paid 2 cappuccinos 6€, I won't talk about the price. The only and worst experience on Malta for 2...
Read moreI don't often give a bad review, but in this instance it is richly deserved. The location is great, and that is what attracted us to it but it is clearly a tourist trap! We ordered 2 chicken burgers, 1 chicken nuggets, 1 chicken Panini, 1beefburger and a "special" not shown on the menu but described by the waitress plus drinks. The drinks arrived after about 5 minutes but after seeing others, who arrived after us, served we enquired about our meal to be told other people were having salads. How long does it take to cook our meals, well after more complaints 45 minutes at which time the manager also brought cheese and crostini as an apology. Why did it take so long, well they had to turn the burgers into inedible leather and the buns into stone!!! The Panini arrived cold surrounded by a slimy salad but the chicken nuggets and chips were fine. Oh the special, two small pieces of chicken wrapped around sausage meat again with chips, which was fine until we got the bill. The burgers were uneaten and after trying to get the manager to return to our table to hear our complaint I took them into the kitchen. The excuse was that he was just the manager, so in my view responsible for the quality of the food, and all that occurred was to have the burgers removed from the bill. But considering we were charged €17 for the special we were certainly taken in. I had to give it one star to enable it...
Read moreWe visited the Cittadella and at the top there was this restaurant, we decided to sit down for something to eat, it was after lunchtime so it wasn't busy. We have ordered , chicken nuggets, one kids pizza, a kids burger, an adult pizza and few drinks. We were suggested tuna salad as special so we ordered 2. One star goes for my pizza that was alright but that's all. Kids nuggets were raw in the middle, kids pizza undercooked, the beef burger was a compressed disc of frozen meat with the aspect of cardboard, but the worst was the tuna salad. The leaves where poor quality the meat was a mush of marinated trimmings of tuna leftovers, thrown on top of the leaves. It was a disgusting dish, if that's what the chef ment to do, he completely failed, I feel like retching just thinking about it. I showed to our server(probably the owner) that the pieces of tuna were mostly fat. At least didn't charge for the kids food but still insisted that it was fresh tuna. Both the salad were nearly untouched. It still charged 12.50 per salad. The bill was done on a block notes with the math add up on his head and the total showed to us. He didn't apologise, he seemed more annoyed by the fact he had to cancel food from the bill. I can't believe that in a such historical place there's such an improvised business. If you go there don't order food for the sake...
