I recently had the pleasure of dining at an amazing restaurant in Gozo that truly exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who made me feel right at home. Kate, our host for the evening, was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. The highlight of the evening, of course, was the food. The menu offered a delightful selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, making it a perfect choice for everyone. Rosa, the talented chef behind these culinary creations, truly wowed us with her skills. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. It's safe to say that this was some of the best food I've ever had. One of the standout moments of the meal was the dessert. The sweet creations that came out of Rosa's kitchen were simply divine. The combination of flavors and textures left our taste buds dancing with joy. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. What truly sets this restaurant apart is not just the food but also the outstanding service. Kate, our host, was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She guided us through the options, offered recommendations, and ensured that every request was met with a smile. Her attention to detail and commitment to making our evening special did not go unnoticed. In conclusion, this restaurant in Gozo is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it receives. With Rosa's exceptional culinary skills and Kate's warm hospitality, it's a dining experience that I will cherish for a long time. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat lover, this place has something extraordinary to offer. If you find yourself in Gozo, make sure to pay them a visit – you won't be disappointed!

The service was good and the atmosphere too. However, we were very disappointed with the food. For the high price we had high expectations which were not met. It was very frustrating spending so much money on food that wasn't worth it, so unfortunately we cannot recommend this place. The vegetable stew was the main problem, the vegetables were completely overcooked so one could barely tell them apart, it was more like a purée with a few recognizable pieces of courgette and sweet potato (or maybe carrot?). The dish itself was very dry, it felt like a clump in the throat that was hard to swallow. A sauce or something to give it more moisture would definitely help here, after all its a stew and supposed to be saucy. It tasted ok and was eatable, but 17.50 Euro for that is really upsetting. Only afterwards, after looking at other reviews, I saw a picture of what it was supposed to look like, with all the different colorful veggies... nothing like what was served. I have to say that there was nothing wrong with the sea bass my husband ordered, but the portion was just not enough and we were both still hungry after one juice, a starter and two main dishes, for which we paid almost 65 euros in total - the most expensive meal we had here. Felt like throwing away money in a tourist trap, sadly. Others seem to have had positive experiences here though, so maybe we had bad luck - this was our experience.

The worst meal I had in Malta. Beer Glass is not clean. Octopus is not fresh. Sour drink like vomit. Pasta has no flavor But tomato. And even flys all around the meal in the whole time... Horrible experience. Hell no will I recommend this ------------- Reply to your comment Two lies from your side. 1. The drink is glass full because we only tasted it. My plate was not clean at all. I left much pasta and octopus. I'm not a person who like wasting. I don't leave any food unless it's too bad. My bf ate all because he was hungry and actually ate my food( we exchanged food before because I found mine too disgusting). 2. You did ask everything fine. We answered it's OK(notice here we didn't say its good) because we are polite and want no trouble. Its a modest general behavior of Asians. BUT you didn't offer drink after we payed and complained about everything from the food to the unclear glass. You had a full awareness of our unsatisfaction. I actually Could have ask for a refund when had the first bite. But we still ate and pay all prices. This is more convincing and real because we didn't owe you. We are just travelers. Second day in malta. I didn't know this restaurant. Its not personal. i was just very unhappy about the food. And just want to tell the truth. But your lies upset me even more. So I feel I need to reply more

Very inappropriate behavior from a manager/owner (the one who didn't have hair). Making faces and causing a scene instead of offering a helpful or friendly remark was deeply inadequate and arrogant. We ordered rabbit stew, expecting a dish typically eaten with a spoon. When it arrived, it was much more meaty than brothy, so we opted to use forks. After five minutes, he appeared at our table without saying anything, just making an angry face and gesturing with his fingers. I asked why he did that, and he replied in an ill-behaved manner that we should use our hands instead of forks, also suggesting that we were mindless because the tissues provided before eating were not for general disinfection purposes, and that we should have known that this implies eating with hands, not with cutlery. This completely ruined our experience. We do not recommend this place unless you want a rude man taking your money. Original Joe's comment (he deleted it) Dear Mladojon,

We apologise if our sense of humour did not go well with your taste. We always suggest our guest to use their hands while eating rabbit stew obviously because of the tiny bones.

In no way we mean to be arrogant We don’t have to!

We give this suggestion to anyone eating rabbit at our restaurant and after 3 years you guys are the first to write such a complaint that’ it’s inappropriate!

At our restaurant we treat all guests as friends! As everyone has a story to tell or an experience to share!

Joe The guy with lots of hair but shaved!

Reply to Joe's comment (the one who has a lot of hair but shaved):

This is some deep kind of manipulation, and very nasty one. If someone disguises an insult as humor and then tries to make you look stupid for not "getting it", they're not joking. They're trying to embarrass, undermine, or gaslight you.

And you can see this pattern in other negative reviews where Joe has replied. His carefully crafted responses always blame the customer, and he never takes responsibility himself.

I'm not a "Karen", I've never left a bad review in my life. I consider myself a cheerful person, and others do too. I've never had an experience like this in a restaurant.

Just look at the past negative reviews, and you'll see exactly what kind of person Joe is (aside from being the one who has a lot of hair but shaved). Reply to Joe's second comment

I am no longer on a holiday but some bad feelings are still there because of how shocking this situation was. Your initial comment should have been like your last one. Thank you for your apology, and I hope this never happens again at...

What's the point of a review if you don't respect a single opinion of your customers? Not a single comment from your guest? Dear Joe, I had lunch with my husband today at your restaurant Roza. Our intention on vacation is not to write reviews, but to tour beautiful Malta and enjoy the local specialties and culture. We ate Rabbit twice in Valletta and we know what freshly prepared food tastes like, and we have been cooking ourselves every day for decades. The dishes we received were certainly not freshly prepared and were reheated, as we also asked the kind waiter to warm up the dish because it arrived cold. The only mistake we made was not returning both dishes. No one comes on vacation with the intention of negative reviews and returning the dishes, quite the opposite. When your employee asked how the dishes were, we answered them honestly and discreetly. Why ask such questions if you are sincerely not interested in the answer and a quality response to it? Reading your responses to previous negative reviews, and there are many of them, we see that you react in anger and do not try to understand the reaction of your guests. The comment that we intentionally influence local businesses with our reviews is nonsense, considering that we prefer family businesses and are in them ourselves. In the hope that you will consider the real intention of the reviews in order to be even better at your job, and not attack your guests, please accept...
