The Grapes Wine Bar — Restaurant in Victoria

Sono stato recentemente in questo ristorante con alcune aspettative, ma purtroppo l’esperienza è stata deludente sotto molti aspetti. Innanzitutto, i tempi di attesa sono stati eccessivi: abbiamo aspettato davvero troppo tra l’ordinazione e l’arrivo dei piatti, il che ha reso l’inizio della cena già poco piacevole. A peggiorare le cose, il tavolo assegnato a quattro persone era incredibilmente piccolo. Non c’era spazio per sistemare comodamente nemmeno i piatti, figuriamoci le bottiglie d’acqua, di vino e il cestino del pane (che, per inciso, abbiamo dovuto chiedere perché non ci era stato portato spontaneamente). Alla fine, ho dovuto prendere una sedia dal tavolo accanto per appoggiarci tutto quello che non entrava. Un altro dettaglio che ha compromesso la serata è stato il servizio delle portate: ci hanno portato antipasti e piatti principali tutti insieme, senza alcuna attenzione alla sequenza. Avevo espressamente chiesto che il piatto principale venisse servito dopo l’antipasto, ma mi è stato semplicemente “parcheggiato” da parte e ripresentato — riscaldato — mezz’ora dopo. Una soluzione improvvisata e poco professionale. Quanto alla qualità del cibo, devo dire che è stata appena sufficiente. Nessun piatto particolarmente memorabile, sapori piuttosto piatti, e la sensazione generale di un’esperienza più caotica che piacevole. Insomma, un’occasione mancata. Con un po’ più di attenzione al servizio e alla gestione dello spazio (oltre a una maggiore cura nella cucina), il ristorante avrebbe potuto offrire molto di più. Ma per come sono andate le cose, dubito sinceramente che tornerò.

I recently visited this restaurant with reasonably high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience turned out to be quite disappointing. First of all, the wait time was excessive — we waited far too long between ordering and receiving our food, which made for a frustrating start to the evening. To make matters worse, the table for four was incredibly small. There wasn’t enough room to comfortably fit the plates, let alone the water and wine bottles or the bread basket (which, by the way, we had to specifically ask for). In the end, I had to use a chair from the neighboring table just to hold everything that didn’t fit. Another issue was the way the dishes were served: appetizers and main courses all came out at the same time, with no consideration for the proper order. I had clearly asked for the main course to be served after the starter, but they simply left it on the side and brought it back half an hour later — reheated. Not exactly the kind of service you expect from a professional kitchen. As for the food itself, it was just barely above average. No dish was particularly memorable; the flavors were flat, and the overall impression was one of a poorly managed experience. In short, a missed opportunity. With a bit more attention to service, space management, and food quality, this place could have offered much more. But given how things went, I honestly don’t think I’ll be...

One of THE worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant, waiters were unskilled and overwhelmed, after ordering we got our drinks and started waiting for the food to come, and while we were waiting we saw people leaving without eating anything, and soon we found out that after waiting AN HOUR for the food nothing came, we said we would like to pay they just ignored us hoping they could make the food ready so we stay but after waiting for another 10 minutes we just left the money on the counter and leave since they were just so unbothered about the customers needs we didn’t wanted to waste our time anymore, oh and also the restaurant manager was inside grabbing his head but done nothing about the situation. No apologies or gifts to make us stay, disgusting place never coming back and don’t go near...

Been here many times in the past and enjoyed it; the food and drink is good to be fair. Went last night to meet a friend there for a beer, stood up for 10 mins waiting for a table which the waiter said would be free. Ended up sitting at a different one. Then after sitting for a few mins the same waiter told us if we only wanted drinks we would have to leave as other people wanted to eat. So basically, if we didn’t spend more money we weren’t welcome. Thanks for telling us before we waited 10 mins for a table. Also, I was there a couple of days before, waited about 15 mins for the bill and in the end gave up and went inside to pay, only to be completely ignored by the man, so I went to the toilet and came back by which time he had managed to pull himself away...
