The food itself was very good and a nice atmosphere but the service time was rediculous. 2 hours to get a main with no communication that there would be a delay due to another large table making an order. No bread to be able to have something just a 2 hour abandoned wait. If you are looking to kill a lot of time its a perfect spot to wait around unattended if you'd like to have a meal I'd recommend trying anywhere else on the island.
A little edit as you say a guest never waited that long I'll describe in more detail so you may remember, 7.45pm arrival and order drinks arrive 8.15 which is fine no issue at all starter arrives shortly after. Main a scallop risotto and the other a tartar dish arrived after you close at 10.15. You may remember as I had said 5 minutes before that if you'd forgotten the order it wasn't an issue we'd pay for what we'd eaten and go somewhere else. The food arrived and my wife ate hers as she was very hungry, I had gone past hungry and thought the order had been forgotten and that I wasn't going to be able to eat with you so had told myself not to expect anything so subdued my hunger. So when I arrived I explained I'd pay for it but I wasn't going to eat it. The kind waiter asked if everything was OK I explained I was no longer hungry but thanked him for enquiring.
I'm not exaggerating the time so I can say yes a guest has waited 2 hours for a main. I left a tip with the server as it wasn't his fault. All I'd say so you can help improve your service for the future with other clients is if you forsee a delay in a order simply saying, this evening we have a large table in don't worry we haven't forgotten about you but we expect another 1 hour on top of the usual 45 minutes to make your risotto, would you like to order. Some more drinks whilst you wait? Then the excessive wait wouldn't have been so bad. So just some communication would help. I don't see us returning. Particularly since your reply is no none of this ever happened in our restaurant. Yes it...

Them - at top of stairs, 'can I help you'.
Me - 'hello just after a table for 2 please'
Them - 'ok I will have to check if we have space'.
Me - looking in thinking... place has 20+/- tables 5 of which are being used.... Are they getting a broom to chase us away?
A minute later on return, Them - 'would you like inside or outside?'
However, once seated staff were all really pleasant and catered for our needs.
I had a fish fillet which came with some sort of mash, veg and a salad with a delightfully tasty sauce. Desert was a rum sponge with ice cream and extra rum on the side(dribbling just thinking about it). I'd have to say our meals were the nicest we had in our stay on Mauritius 👌😎
Restaurant is located upstairs, nice clean tidy & located back off the street which is great as there is much less street noise. Be a great place for a date or...
Read moreBEWARE!! This restaurant has become a tourist trap! What used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Mauritius has become one of the most disappointing experiences.
First of all, the service was exceedingly slow. We waited 45 minutes to receive our starter followed by another hour just to receive our main course.
Ordered the Pad thai with Camaron (big shrimp), green curry and coconut milk and it was a disaster. It was so bad I sent it back and they poorly attempted to remake it with no success.
The issues: Extremely salty to the point where it was inedible shrimp was overcooked, it was like rubber no green curry or coconut milk in the sauce at all Pad thai noodles were extremely overcooked
Overall a terrible experience featuring poor quality of food that is unacceptable for $100 dinner for two.
Had to leave without dessert as I completely lost my appetite.
Save your money and...
