Terrible experience – dirty, broken toilets and wasted time!
We came here around 11:40 before our Vatican tour at 12:30. We ordered coffee and ice cream – average at best. I noticed the toilets were behind paid turnstiles (€1), which seemed strange for customers. Staff showed me the code printed on the receipt.
But the men’s toilet keypad didn’t work at all. I tried multiple times, nothing happened. No staff around to help. A man before me paid €1 to enter, and when his friend tried to follow without paying, a blaring alarm went off – like in a bank robbery. Seriously?
My wife tried the women’s toilet with the same code – it worked. Clearly the men's side was just broken. I finally found coins to pay: 20 + 20 + 20 + 50 cents. The gate opened, but it didn’t return my €0.10 change.
And for what? The dirtiest toilet I’ve seen in a McDonald’s. It stank, barely flushed, and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages.
We lost precious time dealing with this nonsense, right before a timed tour of the Vatican. When you stop at a McDonald's, you expect basic standards – not broken systems, paid access, lost time, and disgusting conditions.

Read moreI visited 2 days ago. With friend who is disabled ♿ and baby, with the stroller. Before I ordered, I asked if there was elevator, they said yes. I ordered and when I wanted to use elevator it was closed. So I went to find out how I can use it, one girl told me wait, it needs key, called to another guy, asked to open the elevator for me, this guy picked the key up and immediately, one woman appeared, and she told into Italian not to open, tell them that it is out of order. This guy and girl got so confused, but they were forced to say, it is out of order. I communicated with them into English, well, they didn't know I speak into Italian and understand all. This is discrimination, and in civil society, in Europe ( Italy is part of European Union but I have no idea why it is), it is shame, really shame to discriminate disabled person and 1 year and half...
Read moreThis was the worst experience ever. The nice man served me and 3 of my friends with a lovely smile. However there was this particular lady called Elma I believe who instantly stared at us with disdain even though we had said or done nothing. As we ordered with the man, she continued to scowl at us until eventually we went to her to collect the food. She threw the bag of food at us and yelled profanities. I have never experienced this type of behaviour. We can only assume two possible reasons for this 1) she disliked us because we weren’t white. There were white people who went before and after us who were treated politely. 2) she has a mental problem. Either way this is not a nice thing to experience going into a McDonald’s and it’s a shame we can’t...
