When we arrived we were "greeted" by the restaurant´s owner, an Italian.
We arrived around 7 pm and the restaurant was essentially empty. We were planning on working on our laptops and requested one of the larger tables and were immediately told they were reserved for larger groups. When we left an hour an a half later, all of them still sat empty.
Further, when we asked for a glass of water; which in Mexico should be given free of charge regardless of what a customer ends up eating or drinking, the owner instead brought a small water bottle of PET plastic. We don´t buy water because of the amount of PET being dumped into landfills in delicate ecosystems regionally, not for financial reasons. When we politely asked for a glass of water instead the owner very rudely asked if we planned on ordering dinner and insisted that if we weren´t, then he wouldn´t give us water and we would have to pay for it.
He said "this is a restaurant"... and went of on a diatribe; not knowing that we are locals, and also in the hotel/restaurant business. What he did is illegal and violates the terms of his business license and we plan on filing a complaint.
Just an unpleasant experience all...
Read moreSeptember 2020– so I have this love affair with La Playita but on this trip I tried out savora and the food and service are amazing. The view and ambience are nice as well. La Playita has the water views and a chill ambiance with good food. If you want fast service in house or togo then try out savora bakhalal. They have a delicious breakfast selection and a wonderful dinner menu. They were very thorough with their covid precautions. The place was clean and every dish was amazing. After 3 days of attempting different places for breakfast and dinner... we ended up at Savora for 3 meals. All of which were delicious and made us wonder why we wasted time looking anywhere else. I loved the agua de pitaya and the lemonade was good. My least favorite thing was the tiramisu. I try tiramisu everywhere and this was not my favorite. I’m not sure if they used some sort of mascarpone substitute but it did not taste like mascarpone. No coffee flavor at all whatever cheese base they use just isn’t an authentic...
Read moreOrdered a Capricciosa pizza the toppings were not the same as described on menu first of all who puts oscar myer hot dogs as salami and it barely had any other toppings and we ordered the vodka salmon pasta as I was going to put a little oregano on it the entire content of the holder fell on the pasta..I was annoyed the servers and table behind were cackling. The server exclaimed you really like oregano. I asked if they could do something! We can give you more sauce and a different bowl how pathetic! Pasta is not expensive! They should of given me a new pasta...but no it was too much for them. We didn't eat it. I later told the server you should give me 50% percent of the pasta at least and I felt that I was being nice already...he spoke with the manager they gave me only 20% off wow! Anyways I don't recommend this place simply they put it on me for something they should check there content holders just imagine if it were a salt or pepper holder! Mediocre...
