La Trattoria 36 has a nice location and the place itself is cute, but my experience was just okay. I ordered the huevos divorciados, looking forward to the classic presentation with two different sauces — instead, I got plain scrambled eggs. No explanation, no heads-up, just… scrambled eggs.

The staff was polite, but not particularly attentive, and by the time I pointed out the mistake, I’d already waited a while and didn’t feel like going through the whole process again.

I know that as an Italian I have high standards when it comes to Pizza. I also know that there are plenty of good Pizza places outside of Italy and I have been to quite a few of those. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. I gave it 3 stars, because I could have known that this was a place for tourists who don’t do any research and the pizza was not the worst pizza I have eaten. Still the Pizza looks better than it tastes. Salt is missing, the dough does not have a lot of taste and prices are pretty high if you consider the fact that you are in Mexico. One of the best pizzas and pastas we’ve ever had. All homemade pasta sauces. Homemade pizza dough and sauce. Expensive for Mexico, but cheaper than you’ll pay at home. Nice waitress. I also don’t like the fact that they automatically sneak in 15% for a tip at the end of the bill, but you were allowed to adjust it, which I did to 10%, the common tip in Mexico.
