Augie's Bar & Bait Shop — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

Augie's was recommended to me by a local who suggested I check out "Taco Tuesday".

So I went on a Tuesday and ordered three tacos and a beer. There were signs on every wall touting all tacos 35 Pesos on Tuesday from 4-7pm. I was charged 220 Pesos for my three which is more than double the posted price. Not much in scheme of things, but it still stung.

Though a thoroughly locals bar, neither the young waitress or her Mom spoke much English and I really wasn't in the mood to push it. The tacos were ok, not fantastic, but certainly better than what you get at Jack-in-the-Box, Stateside. The view was nice as well.

Augie's Bar & Bait Shop is a true Loreto classic... A super fun place to hang, drink, eat, see friends and make new ones. This is one of the first places I ate after moving to Loreto. They always have a happy bartender and a colorful crowd to go with your generous drinks. The menu is pretty extensive and they have daily specials every day of the week. One of my favorite is the 1/2 pound cheeseburger, fries and ice cold beer for only a $169.00 pesos! Our new friends highly recommended Augies and after going there today I totally see why. Josselyn makes delicious margaritas, the fish tacos, salsa, beans and guacamole were delicious!! The prices are super reasonable. Augie’s is a quaint place right on the malecon (ocean boardwalk) so we had a great ocean view. The large windows were open so we also felt a nice ocean breeze.
